Elaine Dickson passed away peacefully in Tampa, Florida, on February 9. She was born in Wichita Falls, Texas, on December 20, 1929. She and her family moved to northern New Mexico when she was a child, living in several towns where her parents operated sawmills. She graduated from the University of New Mexico with a journalism degree in 1951. She worked at newspapers in El Paso, Santa Fe, and Albuquerqu­e. She was also proud of the 3 years she worked as a stewardess for Braniff Airlines, based in Lima, Peru. She married William Donnelly in 1955. They had four children. She remarried in 1984 to Harry Dickson. In 1987, she and Harry moved to Sandwich, Massachuse­tts, where they operated a bed and breakfast, the Captain Ezra Nye House, for the next 15 years. Her cheerful, positive outlook helped make the inn successful, and she remained happy and upbeat all her life. They finally retired for good in 2002, moving back to Albuquerqu­e to be closer to family. Elaine was active and adventurou­s, loved traveling, and began practicing yoga in the 1950s. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Lewis and Arizona Jackson, her brother, Wes Jackson, her first husband, William Donnelly, her second husband, Harry Dickson, and daughter, Nancy Turanski. She is survived by her children Bill Donnelly, Laura (David) Parsons, Jack (Gay) Donnelly, Carolyn Donnelly, Antoinette (Bob) Smith, Harry Dickson Jr., Cathy (Philip) Reid; grandchild­ren Caitlin Donnelly, Tracy Smith, Duncan (Tara) Smith, Sonya (Victor) Flores, Dmitri (Elizabeth) Calvert, Rachel Turanski, Jacob Turanski, Danielle Dooley, Aaron Reid, Jonathan (Ashley) Reid, and numerous great-grandchild­ren.
