1938 to parents Manuel and Dorella Pedroncelli (later Mora), he lived his entire life in Albuquerque, growing up in Los Ranchos, becoming a Police Officer with the Albuquerque Police Department, working as a patrol officer and statistician, before retiring and starting a second career as a real estate agent. He was also a member of the New Mexico Air National Guard.

Throughout his life, Joseph has an unquenchable thirst for learning and knowledge, attending and earning degrees at both the University of Albuquerque and University of New Mexico. Over the years his hobbies and interests included astronomy, space travel, astral photography, quantum physics, drawing, gardening, car mechanics, electronics and computer programming, fly fishing, tennis, physical fitness, watching international soccer and Lobo women’s basketball, and reading voluminous amounts on history and science. Of all of his interests and hobbies, it was the study of the celestial universe, stargazing with fellow astronomers, and astral photography that continually engaged him from his childhood to his very last days.
But above all, Joseph’s greatest accomplishment and source of pride was as a father, raising his three children, Larisa, Paul and Joseph II, seeing them go on to lead their own fulfilling lives and in the case of Paul and Joseph II, giving him his beloved grandchildren Having lost his own father as a young child, Joseph put his heart and soul into being the best father that he knew how to be. He loved sharing his passion for science and lifelong learning with his children, but especially watching the in quisitiveness and growth of his grandchildren.
A celebration of Joseph’s life will be held privately at a later date and his remains placed in a niche near to the grave of his grave of his father at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Albuquerque, per his request. Please remember him by taking time to look into the celestial skies with wonder and the curiosity of the universe.
