G. Trudy Encinias Beverley
Trudy passed away peacefully on July 13th, 2023 at her home surrounded by loved ones. Born in Gallup, New Mexico, she later met and married the love of her life Charles (Chuck) Beverley while he was stationed at the Continental Divide. She was preceded in death by her parents Fidel Jaques Encinio and Maria Rosalia Gonzales; sisters Rosemarie and Lucille; and brothers Fidel, Louis, Trinidad, and John.
She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Chuck; children Charlie Beverley, Karen Beverley, Larry Beverley, Roni Worm (Tom), Lori Beverley, and Chrysty Fortner (Tracey); grandchildren Christopher, Brian, Michael, Marcus, Samantha, William, and Nathan; great grandchildren Oliver Hutchison and Haydyn Flint, her brother Philip Encinio (Susan); in-laws Hoy Beverley (Tish), Charlotte Ford, and Jean Williams (Ted), and dozens of cousins, nieces, and nephews who loved her dearly.
Trudy’s pride and joy was her family. As a military wife of twenty-one years and mother of six, Trudy became adept at packing and moving and making each house a home wherever the Air Force transferred them. Trudy was loved for her compassion, hospitality, and friendship. She touched many lives and gave so much of herself to so many. She was a beacon of joy and often the life of the party. Some of the family’s fondest memories began at the lake: The DeBettignies, Finnemore’s, Loveland’s, Stewart’s, Arient’s, Montoya’s, Meloche’s, Hubmer’s, Wagner’s, Pilkington’s and all the kids, boats, campers, dogs, and chaos that ensued.
The Catholic Church was an important part of Trudy’s entire life. Trudy and Chuck were founding members of Risen Savior Catholic Community where they served in various ministries for over forty years. Trudy was a member of the women’s guild and actively involved in eucharistic ministry.
Trudy was heavily involved in city and state politics, including state election ward chairperson and volunteer. She later threw her hat in the ring for a state senate seat which led to her involvement in gubernatorial campaigns for Bruce King and Toney Anaya, and later, as part of the steering committee for Marty Chavez’s state senate run.
After proprietor (and bar tender/ bouncer) of the Los Ojos Saloon in Jemez Springs, Trudy began a career with the State of New Mexico. At the age of fifty, Governor Bruce King appointed Trudy to the State Personnel Board, she then moved to a full-time position with Regulation and Licensing, and later retired as Executive Director of the State Board of Accountancy.
Upon retirement, Trudy and Chuck set out to see the world as part of the Friendship Force and with friends and family to such places as Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, Egypt, Venezuela, Mexico, England, Alaska and Canada making friends and memories along the way.
Trudy leaves behind a grateful family and hosts of friends who will indeed miss her infectious smile and welcoming embrace.

A special thanks to caregivers Ella, Sarah, Amber, Susan, and Kathleen who supported the family and have lovingly been by Chuck and Trudy’s side on this journey.
Visitation and reflection will be held at Daniel’s Funeral Home located at 7601 Wyoming Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109 on Thursday, July 27th, 2023 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. with funeral mass presided by Monsignor Richard Olona on Friday, July 28th, 2023 at 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church located at 811 Guaymas Place, NE, Albuquerque, NM 87108. The family will host a reception immediately following the service at Daniel’s Funeral Home located at 7601 Wyoming Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109.
