Mary Armijo, age

81, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, sister and friend was called to her eternal resting place while surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, August 26, 2023.

She was born on October 23, 1941, in Torreon, NM to Ramona and Max Montoya. Her family moved to Albuquerque, NM and spent the remainder of her life there.

Mary is survived by her children, Anthony Armijo, Annette (Steve) Jaramillo, Darlene (Dominico) Encinias, Karen (Marco) Gonzalez, Ramona (Daniel) Barboa; as well as thirteen grandchildren, Brittany (Julian) Lucero and Natalie Jaramillo, Mark, Michael and Matthew Gonzalez; Nicolas, Jacob, and Iliana Encinias; Marisol and Cecilia Armijo; Isaiah, Elijah and Josiah Barboa; and two great-grandchildren, Xander and Avery Lucero; also by her sisters, Rita (Charlie) Maes and Pat (Al) Padilla. She was preceded in death by her husband, Pedro (Pete) Armijo who were lovingly married for 58 years; and her parents, Max, and Ramona Montoya; and her in-laws, William, and Minnie Armijo.

Mary was a strong, caring, and loving woman, who was devoted to her family and her faith. She was someone who constantly put everyone before herself and who cared for everyone around her. She was a lifelong, faithful, and active member of Holy Ghost Parish and Catholic School. She was a Catechist for 32 yrs. within Holy Ghost Parish and worked as a Secretary for the Archdiocese of Santa Fe.

A special Thank you to Blanca (Bonita) Velasquez who lovingly helped care for our mom over the past couple of years. You were her and our Angel here on Earth and we are eternally grateful for you, and you have become part of our family.

A rosary will be held Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at 6:30 p.m., St. Therese of the Infant Jesus Catholic Church, 3424 4th Street NW - Albuquerque, NM 87107.

The mass will be held on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Therese of the Infant Jesus Catholic Church, 3424 4th Street NW - Albuquerque, NM 87107. The burial will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Please visit our online guestbook for Mary at www.FrenchFunerals.com.
