Lawrence Gonzales Jr., 14, of Albuquerqu­e caught a 16-inch, 2-pound smallmouth bass at Conchas Lake using a crankbait on April 5.

Tiffany Mann of Albuquerqu­e caught and released a 26-inch carp on the Rio Grande using a green streamer fly on March 24.

Eric Ferguson, 14, of Albuquerqu­e caught and released a 19-inch rainbow trout and a 20.5-inch cutbow using his hand-tied size 20 Red Annelid fly on the San Juan River on April 4.

Kamila Miller, 9, 5 and 3, of Albuquerqu­e caught several trout using Salmon-Peach PowerBait on April 6. … Ray Garcia of Albuquerqu­e caught a 23-inch rainbow trout using a red-and-black Wacky Rigged worm on April 1.

Daxon Ferguson, 5, of Albuquerqu­e caught a 14-inch crappie at Elephant Butte Lake while trolling an Erie Dearie lure tipped with a minnow on March 27.

Fishing for trout at Clayton Lake was good using various colors of PowerBait and worms.

Fishing for smallmouth bass and walleye at Conchas Lake was fair to good using crankbaits.

Fishing for trout at Morphy Lake was good using PowerBait and olive Hare’s Ear flies. Streamflow on the Pecos River near Pecos on Monday morning was not measured due to ice. Fishing for trout was good using live worms and Woolly Bugger flies. Streamflow on the Red River below the Red River Hatchery on Monday morning was 49 cfs. Fishing for trout was fair using salmon eggs.

Streamflow on the Rio Grande below the Taos Junction Bridge on Monday morning was 370 cfs. Fishing for trout was good using BWO flies, mayfly nymphs, caddis dry flies and streamer flies. Fishing for pike was fair to good using streamer flies. Fishing for trout at the Santa Cruz Reservoir was good using Green Garlic PowerBait and Pink PowerBait.

Fishing for trout at Storrie Lake was good using worms and Garlic PowerBait. Fishing for walleye at Ute Lake was fair using jerkbaits and paddle-tail swimbaits. Fishing for white bass was good when trolling using various crankbaits that dive 8-10 feet deep. Fishing for smallmouth bass was fair to good using chatterbai­ts and swimbaits. The main lake water surface temperatur­e was in the lower 50s, and the water’s color was lightly stained from wind.

Fishing for bass at Cochiti Lake was fair using white swimbaits. Fishing for catfish was fair using nightcrawl­er worms. Fishing for pike was fair using orange Mamba flies and jerkbaits.

Fishing for trout at Fenton Lake was good using Kastmaster lures and chartreuse PowerBait.

Fishing for trout at Lake Farmington was good using corn-scented PowerBait. Streamflow on the Rio Chama below El Vado Lake on Monday morning was 309 cfs; streamflow below Abiquiú Lake on Monday morning was 181 cfs. Fishing for trout below Abiquiú Lake was slow to fair using flies. Please remember, from the river-crossing bridge on U.S. Highway 84 at Abiquiú upstream 7 miles to the base of Abiquiú Dam is special trout waters with a bag limit of only two trout.

Fishing for trout at Riverside Park Pond (Aztec Pond #1) was fair using rainbowcol­ored, Garlic PowerBait. Streamflow on the San Juan River near Archuleta on Monday morning was 509 cfs. Fishing for trout in the quality waters was fair to good using size 20 Red Annelid flies and small Pheasant-Tail nymph flies. Fishing for trout in the bait waters was fair to good using green PowerBait and nightcrawl­er worms near Crusher Hole and Cottonwood Campground.

Fishing for trout at Seven Springs Kids’ Pond was fair to good using salmon eggs, worms and Yellow PowerBait. Fishing for trout at Tingley Beach was good using Salmon-Peach PowerBait and red/ black Wacky Rigged worms.

Fishing for catfish at Caballo Lake was fair to good using cut bait. Fishing for walleye was fair using blue crankbaits. Fishing for bass at Elephant Butte Lake was good using minnows. Fishing for crappie was fair using Erie Dearie lures. Fishing for catfish was good using cut shad bait and cut carp bait. The main lake water surface temperatur­e was in the lower 50s. Fishing for trout at Escondida Lake was good using PowerBait and salmon eggs. Streamflow on the Gila River near Gila on Monday morning was 292 cfs. Fishing for white bass at Percha Dam was fair using Underspin Swim Jigs. Streamflow on the Rio Grande below Elephant Butte Dam on Monday morning was 1,060 cfs. Fishing for bass in the riverside ditches near Los Lunas was fair to good using smoke-colored plastic grubs. Fishing for trout at Alto Lake was good using Orange PowerBait. Streamflow on the Black River at Malaga on Monday morning was 7 cfs.

Fishing for trout at Bottomless Lakes was fair using PowerBait.

Fishing for walleye at Brantley Lake was fair using hot dogs.

Fishing for trout at Grindstone Reservoir was good using Mepps spinners. Streamflow on the Pecos River below Sumner Lake on Monday morning was 75 cfs. Fishing for smallmouth bass was good using black Streamer flies. Streamflow on the Rio Ruidoso at Hollywood Monday morning was 19 cfs.
