Several District 6 school organizations got a boost from the San Jose City Council last month. Councilmembers approved a $5,000 grant for the Willow Glen Education Foundation to offset the revenue lost by the cancellation of their annual auction fundraiser; a $10,000 grant for the Hoover Middle School Parent Teacher Student Association to subsidize efforts including campus improvements and student programs during the COVID-19 pandemic; and a $5,000 grant for the Willow Glen Performing Arts Booster club to offset money lost due to the cancellation of their planned Roaring ’20s Gala fundraiser.
