Dining on the go: Moveable launches Food Truck Fridays in Willow Glen.

Moveable, the folks who founded food truck festivals in the South Bay a decade ago, have launched Food Truck Fridays in San Jose’s Willow Glen neighborhood.

From 5 to 9 p.m., the partnership with Safeway will bring three food trucks to the Willow Glen Safeway parking lot, located at 1530 Hamilton Ave. at Meridian Avenue, for both onsite orders and pickup of pre-ordered meals to take home.

“Our goal with these events is to bring a variety of great local food to our customers and the communities our stores serve while maintaining a safe environment for the customers attending,” said Matt Lynch, senior vice president for meals at Safeway parent company Albertsons.

New trucks will rotate in weekly. Here is the lineup for the rest of the month:

Today

Thai Thai: Pad thai (chicken, shrimp, tofu), orange chicken, basil chicken, curry (red, yellow)

I Love Cheesesteak: Philly Cheez, Korean Bulgogi, Hot Date, Bacon Love ribeye steaks

Treatbot Ice Cream: East Side Horchata, 408 (caramel with fudge, Oreos), sorbet (lemon, mango, raspberry)

Sept. 17

Grillzilla The Dudes: California burgers, crispy chicken sandwiches (Buffalo style, garlic parmesan), grilled chicken, salads Saigon Street Food: Banh mi, rice and noodle plates with chicken or pork, egg rolls, Vietnamese iced coffee Luv’s Brownies: Brownies in cones, milkshakes, sundaes, ice cream sandwiches, on a stick

Sept. 24

Akita Sushi: Sushi, sashimi, hand rolls, teriyaki bowls, poke, bento boxes

Road Dogs: Beef hot dogs (classic, chili, bacon, kraut), bratwurst, fries, tots, onion rings

Luv’s Brownies: Brownies in cones, milkshakes, sundaes, ice cream sandwiches, on a stick

For the safety of food workers, customers are asked to wear a face mask when picking up their food.
