Arts District, Selby Fleetwood Gallery is housed in a 250-year-old adobe with a lovely sculpture garden. The gallery offers a selection of more than 20 painters and sculptors working in a contemporary genre. Surrounded by this old-world charm, contemporary artists bring fresh and new approaches to art.

Recently two California artists joined the established gallery.

Helen Steele was born and raised in Germany by two grandparents who were also painters and where she learned the love of drawing. Her nondescript figures seem to wander in ambiguous spaces with either a muted or colorful palette depending on the mood she is creating.

Plein air painter Nathanael Gray is a native of Indiana and recently moved to the California Bay Area. Known for his adventurous explorations of his surrounding environments, Gray paints gestural renditions of his impression of the landscape using thick, impasto paint.

On the evening of Friday, May 18, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. the gallery invites visitors to join them and sculptor Kevin Box as they celebrate their 10-year anniversary together. There will be new work by Box and live entertainment, light refreshments and fun.
