Pippin Contemporary, founded in 2011 by abstract painter Aleta Pippin, is located on historic Canyon Road and is an uplifting world of vibrant color as expressed in contemporary art. The gallery’s artists are selected for their energetic and tactile expressions and present a range of personal perspectives expressed through their art. Those expressions range from original paintings in vibrant colors to sculpture in stone, metal and glass, bronze, and kinetic. As Pippin suggests, “That passion creates an element of surprise and beauty, offering you, the viewer, an opportunity to reflect, to access emotions and to explore your thoughts.”
Renowned Southwest landscape artist Phyllis
Kapp has joined the gallery’s roster. Her ecstatic watercolors never fail to elevate and inspire. Collectors and newcomers alike “love the spontaneity and sheer joyfulness of her landscapes, paintings that transform the Southwest into a wonderland of myriad colors.”
Rebecca Haines’ solo exhibition at the gallery, titled Creature Creature, will take place May 23 through June 6, with her opening reception on Friday, May 25. Her show will continue her devotion to animal emissaries through her paintings, offering even deeper contemplations of the coexistence between the wild and the civilized.
“We’re very enthusiastic about the art market and anticipate an outstanding year for sales in Santa Fe.”
