The 56th Philadelphia Antiques & Art Show will be held at the Philadelphia Navyyard from April 20 to 22, and will jointly benefit the Philadelphia Museum of Art and Penn Medicine.the show features furniture, paintings, jewelry and many other objects.visitors will discover fresh perspectives on Colonial and pre-colonial American life.

Show was founded in 1966 to support the work of Penn Medicine, and this year’s association with the Philadelphia Museum of Art marks the beginning of a new era for a historic tradition.through this partnership the museum will gradually assume full responsibility for the show’s organization and management. 2018 show co-chair Anne Hamilton states, “The Philadelphia Antiques &
Art Show is thrilled to join two great institutions within Philadelphia, the Philadelphia Museum of Art and
Penn Medicine.this is a wonderful and exciting collaboration of these two important institutions.we are expanding the offerings of the show to accommodate our new and broadening audience.”
The show will feature more fine art galleries and offer the opportunity to see a wider spectrum of art. Presented are works from a growing list of dealers, including Thistlethwaite Americana, Moderne Gallery,whitman Antiques, Gleason Fine Art and Avery Galleries. Marty Gleason, co-owner of Gleason Fine Art in Boothbay Harbor, Maine, is looking forward to exhibiting at the 2018 show. He explains,“the historic connections between Maine, and its renowned Monhegan Island art colony, and Pennsylvania are many, and we intend to exemplify this with paintings by such artists as Jamie Wyeth, including a major Pennsylvania watercolor; Robert Henri; and John Fulton Folinsbee, among many others.”
