The Michener Art Museum’s board of trustees has announced Kathleen V. Jameson as the museum’s new executive director. Jameson formerly served as the president and CEO at the Mint Museum in Charlotte, North Carolina, and is a National Arts Strategies Chief Executive Program Fellow… after a national search, Todd Herman has been unanimously approved as the Mint Museum’s new president and CEO by the board of trustees. He comes to the museum from the Arkansas Arts Center, where he oversaw a dramatic period of growth, fundraising and forward-looking planning during his tenure… thomas Galbraith has been appointed as the CEO of Leslie Hindman Auctioneers, succeeding Leslie Hindman, who founded the firm in 1982…Former president of Sarah Lawrence College Karen R. Lawrence has been named the president of the Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens after an extensive search. The Huntington’s ninth president, Lawrence will step into the role at the beginning of September… anne Kraybill has been named the Richard M. Scaife Director/ CEO of the Westmoreland Museum of American Art. She succeeds Judith Hanson O’toole, who will retire after 25 years as director, and comes to the Westmoreland after seven years at the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art… boscobel House and Gardens has appointed Jennifer Carlquist as the executive director. Carlquist joined Boscobel as a curator in 2015 and spearheaded innovative and widely attended exhibitions such as Hudson Hewn: New York Furniture Now and Make Do’s: Curiously Repaired Antiques… Paul Smeets has been appointed to succeed Konrad Bernheimer as chair of Paintings for TEFAF Maastricht. Appointed to the TEFAF board of trustees in 2017, Smeets is the chairman of the Geneva-based Rob Smeets Old Master Paintings Gallery… sarah Needham has joined the Hill Art Foundation as executive director following an accomplished tenure at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation. In the newly created position of executive director, Needham will manage all logistical aspects of the foundation… the Art Dealers Association of America has announced five new member galleries, including Honor Fraser Gallery and Kayne Griffin Corcoran, based in Los Angeles, San Francisco-based Jessica Silverman Gallery, and Franklin Parrasch Gallery and Venus Over Manhattan in New York… van Shields will retire as the executive director of the Berkshire Museum. David Ellis will step in as interim executive director as the museum undertakes a national search for Shields’ successor… The Tacoma Art Museum has announced the appointment of Matt Marshall as the museum’s director of development. Marshall comes from Seattle’s Museum of Pop Culture, where he helped build a new fundraising team… jaime Desimone has been announced as the Portland Museum of Art’s new associate curator of contemporary art. Desimone joins the museum from the Museum of Contemporary Art, Jacksonville… adrienne Adams and Danielle Galván Gomez will serve as the Los Angeles County Museum of Art’s inaugural LACMA Emerging Art Professionals Fellows. The fellowship aims to enrich the diversity of the museum field by exposing recent college graduates from historically underrepresented groups to leadership experiences at the museum.
