October 23 John Moran Auctioneers in Monrovia, California, will host its inaugural Women in Art sale directly preceeding its flagship California & American Fine

Art auction.the sale features approximately 100 pieces by well-known and established female artists creating paintings, sculpture, textiles, prints and other objects. Modernist painter Helen Hoffman Rousseau, who was based in the Bay Area, will be represented by her aerial painting View of Laguna Beach and Hotel, which has a sliver of the pacific Ocean in the upper right corner.the painting, depicting mainly red and brown rooftops, as well as the patchwork land, carries an estimate of $4,000 to $6,000. Mary Bradish Titcomb, an

East Coast native who often traveled west to paint and sketch the light of the region, paints another California view. Her impressionistic work of a cypress tree on the California coast is expected to sell between $4,000 to $6,000.
