Paintings, sculpture and decorative antiques will be among the notable items arriving to market during Cottone Auctions’ Fine Art & Antiques sale on September

29. Included in the sale will be a group of Tiffany Studios lamps with their vivid stainedglass shades.there also will be a number of noteworthy paintings in the sale, including Sam Francis’ mixed media work SFT-735 (Toyko Series), which has an estimate of $40,000 to $60,000.

New York City in the winter by Guy Carleton Wiggins is also of interest.the piece, displaying the artist’s typical subject matter in his impressionistic style, is titled Winter at the Plaza and is expected to sell between $20,000 and $40,000.William Langson Lathrop’s October Evening (es.t $20/40,000), depicting a vivid sunset, also is estimated at $20,000 to $40,000. The Lathrop was awarded the Temple Gold Medal at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in 1922.
