Paintings, sculpture and decorative antiques will be among the notable items arriving to market during Cottone Auctions’ Fine Art & Antiques sale on September

29. Included in the sale will be a group of Tiffany Studios lamps with their vivid stainedgla­ss shades.there also will be a number of noteworthy paintings in the sale, including Sam Francis’ mixed media work SFT-735 (Toyko Series), which has an estimate of $40,000 to $60,000.

A traditiona­l painting of

New York City in the winter by Guy Carleton Wiggins is also of interest.the piece, displaying the artist’s typical subject matter in his impression­istic style, is titled Winter at the Plaza and is expected to sell between $20,000 and $40,000.William Langson Lathrop’s October Evening (es.t $20/40,000), depicting a vivid sunset, also is estimated at $20,000 to $40,000. The Lathrop was awarded the Temple Gold Medal at the Pennsylvan­ia Academy of the Fine Arts in 1922.
