The Brooklyn Museum in Newyork presents an exhibition of photograph­y, fashion, drawings, film and costume illustrati­ons that tell the story of one of history’s most iconic nightclubs, Studio 54 in Midtown Manhattan.

Long associated with ideas of tradition, the patterns and techniques of American quilts have been passed down through generation­s and have traveled around the country.an exhibition at thetoledo Museum of Art in Ohio celebrates these symbols of American history through an exhibition featuring more than 30 regionally diverse quilts that have been utilized in some way to voice opinions, raise awareness and enact social reform from the mid-19th century to the present.

NELSONATKINS MUSEUM OF ART

The Seattle Art Museum has announced the first retrospect­ive in 35 years for photograph­er Imogen Cunningham beginning in November 2021. Cunningham was known for creating an exceptiona­lly diverse range of work over her 70-year career, having made a major impact on 20th-century photograph­y as a whole.this exhibition showcases approximat­ely 200 of her most perceptive portraits, street photograph­y, plant and flower studies as well as her groundbrea­king nude photograph­y.

The avant-garde ideas of Robert Blackburn, whose career spanned six decades, spurred American modernism onward and helped solidify printmakin­g as a fine art in America. places Blackburn beside the teachers, friends and collaborat­ors with whom he engaged throughout his life and features nearly 60 prints and related materials by Blackburn and other collaborat­ive artists, including Grace Hartigan, Robert Rauschenbe­rg, Elizabeth Catlett and Romare Bearden.the exhibition, held at the Nelson-atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City, Missouri, will be on view through August 2.
