The Simpsons: The Sixteenth

Season

Fans of Matt Groening’s record setting toon will now be only eight years behind in amassing all its hilarity on DVD and Bluray. This four-disc set (in a box graced by Professor Frink’s visage) collects all 21 episodes of the 2004-05 season, kicking off with “Treehouse of Horror XV.” Other highlight episodes are the Writers Guild of America Award-winning “Mommy Beerest” (Michael Price) and nominees “There’s Something About Marrying,” “Thank God, It’s Doomsday” and “The Father, the Son and the Holy Guest Star,” and the Emmynominated “Future-Drama.”

Extra goodies include an Animation Showcase of “Future-Drama” Act 1, audio commentaries for all episodes, bonus episode “Holidays of Future Passed,” deleted scenes and gallery with commentary, Easter Eggs, “Greetings, Junior Scienteers!,” live table read of “Thank God, It’s Doomsday,” “Living in the Moment,” two sketch galleries and a special “Pranksta Rap” language feature. The three-disc Blu-ray set ($59.99) tacks on two more bonus episodes: “Bart to the Future” and “Lisa’s Wedding.” To paraphrase Prof. Frink, this set has the hoyven, the mayven and the whole gahhoyvee thing!
