The Word: Un­pre­viewed, though pre-re­lease scut­tle­butt praises the film­mak­ers’ care to ac­cu­rately re­flect Latino cul­ture and her­itage. Nom­i­na­tion Chances: Though sight-un­seen as of this writ­ing, the pre-re­lease in­dus­try buzz has this as the one to beat this year, de­spite its sim­i­lar­i­ties to Jorge Gu­tiér­rez s well-loved 2014 epic The Book of Life.
