Littlerock High to induct three into its Hall of Fame FABELA

LITTLEROCK — Littlerock High School will induct graduates Brandon Thomas, Matthew Brockway and Adam Febela into the school’s Hall of Fame at the sixth annual Hall of Fame ceremony.

The reception begins at 5 p.m. in Littlerock High’s Community Center. Inductees will be recognized during halftime of Littlerock High’s homecoming football game against Lancaster High School. Kick-off is at 7 p.m.

Matthew Brockway, Class of 2002, Education

Brockway attended Antelope Valley College for two years after he graduated from Littlerock High. He has an associate’s degree in Liberal Studies, and a bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies, from California State University, Northridge.

He also has two master’s degrees, one in Science Education and one in Math Education from Western Governors University. He also has an administra­tive credential from Western Governors University.

Brockway taught in the Keppel Union School District for seven years. He served as an assistant principal at two school sites on Edwards Air Force Base, and at Endeavour Middle School. He also served as vice principal at Knight High School. Brockway is now principal of Vasquez High School in the Acton-Agua Dulce Unified School District.

Adam Fabela, Class of 1999, Athletics/Sports

Fabela maintained a 3.8 grade-point average throughout his senior year, and led the Lobos to a 10-0 record. (The only Littlerock Golden League Championsh­ip in school history.)

Fabela earned All-CIF Honors and ended his career as the leading tackler at Littlerock High. Fabela attended Antelope Valley College and earned an associates in Social Sciences while playing Marauder football.

He transferre­d to Cal Lutheran University for one year where he continued his football career. At Cal Lutheran he maintained a 3.7 GPA while studying Liberal Arts. He finished his bachelor’s degree at Brandman University.

Fabela opened up his coaching career at Knight High School and Paraclete High School. That led to a head coaching job at Littlerock High. Fabela now coaches at AV College where he works with potential Division I students who have aspiration­s to play Division I College Football.

Brandon Thomas, Class of 2008, Military/Civic

Thomas attended New Mexico Military Institute for two years after he graduated from Littlerock High. During this time period, Thomas received his private pilot’s license and continued on to receive his instrument rating.

After graduating with an associate’s degree in science, Thomas transferre­d to Embry-Riddle Aeronautic­al University in Daytona Beach, Florida.

He joined the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps Marine Corps option program and continued to pursue his commission as a Marine Corps officer. In December 2012, 2ndLt Brandon Thomas became a commission­ed officer with a bachelor’s of science degree in Aeronautic­al Science.

With this degree, Thomas also received a multi-engine commercial pilot’s license and an aviation contract with the Marines. In May of 2013, Thomas attended The Basic School in Quantico Virginia where he learned the basic skills of becoming a rifle platoon commander.

Upon his graduation in November 2013, Thomas continued on to primary flight school in Pensacola, Florida, in April 2014 where he learned how to fly the T-6B Texan II with VT-6. He graduated second in his class and was selected to fly jets for follow-on training. He spent two years in Meridian, Mississipp­i flying the T-45C Goshawk with VT-7 where he transition­ed to fly tilt-rotor aircrafts.

Thomas also learned how to fly helicopter­s in the TH57B and TH-57C aircrafts in HT-18 in Pensacola, Florida. He completed flight training in Corpus Christi, Texas, training in the T-44 Pegasus in VT-35. Thomas received his wings of gold on 7 July 2017 and was designated a Naval Aviator for the Marine Corps.

In August 2017, Thomas reported to the Fleet Replacemen­t Squadron in Jacksonvil­le, North Carolina to begin flying the MV22B Osprey in VMMT-204. Upon completion, he was designated as a tiltrotor second pilot.

Today, Capt Thomas is now stationed in Camp Pendleton, California flying with VMM-364, the Purple Foxes.
