Community theater stars shine
Annual ceremony honors Valley’s best productions
LANCASTER — The casts and crews responsible for community theatrical gems such as “Damn Yankees,” “The Little Mermaid” and “Young Frankenstein,” which were presented during the 2018-19 production season, will take their final bow during the 33rd annual Shining Stars awards ceremony on Sunday at the University of Antelope Valley.
Other nominees include “Dracula: The Musical?”, “Children of Eden,” “Mamma Mia,” “It’s a Wonderful Life,” “The 39 Steps,” and “The Mousetrap.”
The annual awards ceremony honors the local actors, directors, set designers, choreographers and technical staff involved in staging some of the Valley’s best productions the Cedar Street Theatre and Palmdale Repertory Theatre troupes had to offer.
