Hiker finds skele­tal re­mains in Lake LA

A hiker made a grue­some dis­cov­ery on Mon­day, near the area of 230th East and East Ave, P-3, in Lake Los An­ge­les.

The Los An­ge­les County Sher­iff’s Depart­ment Homi­cide Bureau de­tec­tives are in­ves­ti­gat­ing the skele­tal re­mains that were dis­cov­ered at ap­prox­i­mately 6:35 p.m.

Be­cause of dark­ness, the scene was se­cured by deputies from Lan­caster Sta­tion. On Tues­day morn­ing, the Homi­cide de­tec­tives, along with in­ves­ti­ga­tors from the Los An­ge­les County Depart­ment of Med­i­cal Ex­am­iner-Coroner re­sponded to the scene.

Homi­cide in­ves­ti­ga­tors searched the scene and sur­round­ing area and dis­cov­ered the hu­man re­mains of an ad­di­tional vic­tim.

The iden­tity and cause of death of both vic­tims is un­known at this time and will be de­ter­mined by the Los An­ge­les County Depart­ment of Med­i­cal Ex­am­iner-Coroner.

The in­ves­ti­ga­tion is on­go­ing and there is no ad­di­tional in­for­ma­tion avail­able at this time.
