Palmdale Regional Medical Center
Recovery is Around the Corner The High Desert’s ONLY Acute Rehabilitation Unit
The Rehabilitation Institute at Palmdale Regional Medical Center offers the region’s only specialized acute rehabilitation services for patients recovering from stroke, brain injury, orthopedic conditions and spinal cord injury.
The Rehabilitation Institute’s goal is to help patients regain function and improve quality of life.
Comprehensive Care, Close to Home
Thanks to the Rehabilitation Institute, patients no longer have to travel out of the area for specialized rehabilitative care. The closest facilities offering these services are inconveniently located over 40 miles from the Antelope Valley.
The Institute is home to 27 all private patient rooms, as well as designated areas for training and activities. Patients receive individualized care from a skilled therapy team that includes physical therapists, occupational and speech therapists, nurses, unit director, medical director (a physiatrist) and pain management specialist.
Patients have access to advanced technology like the Vector Gait and Safety System®, a ceiling-mounted gait and safety system. It helps improve mobility and balance while promoting a faster recovery.
How We Help Keep Patients Safe
At the Rehabilitation Institute at Palmdale Regional, the safety of our community is our first priority. We follow all CDC and state guidelines to help keep patients safe during their post-acute stay, while still maximizing the intensive therapy they need to achieve superior outcomes.
The following protocols have been enacted to protect the health and wellness of our patients, visitors and staff: Universal shielding and masking
All therapy gym equipment cleaned thoroughly between each patient and at the
end of each day
Social distancing followed by patients and staff in the gym, as well as during the Rehabilitation Dining Program
All staff and pre-approved caregiver personnel are screened for COVID-19
Patients are evaluated before admission for exposure and the presence of COVID-19
Evaluations throughout the day to identify potential signs and symptoms of changes in condition that could be COVID-19 or any other infection
We know this is a stressful time, and we are ready to make sure patients receive the best and safest care possible.
