Gino is a two-year-old altered male brown boxer. He came to the Palmdale Animal Care Center as a stray on Feb. 19. Gino allowed being handled and loves to seek the attention of his handler. While at the play yard, he displayed a push and pull play style, engaging with other dogs and very social. He is friendly and loves to romp around during play time. He is trainable and could always benefit if he is give behavior and leash walking training. With medium energy level, Gino could be a great walking or even running mate. Jake is a one-year, six-month-old altered male black German shepherd. He came to the Palmdale Animal Care Center as an owner surrender on Feb. 19. During play time, Jake has displayed a gentle and dainty play style. He is tolerant and non-reactive to other dogs around him. He allowed his handler to put a leash on him and walks well on leash with a little tugging. Jake showed a friendly demeanor while being examined and seeks attention from his handler as well. He will do very well and is required to be in a home with middle-school aged children and calm dogs. Continued socializat­ion and behavior training will help Jake to be the great pet. Darla is a sweet two-year-old spayed female tri-color German shepherd mix that is simply delightful. In playgroup, she got along well with other dogs but preferred to play calmly and explore the area. She was tolerant with the more active dogs, but did better with the dogs that weren’t as rough and rowdy. It is recommende­d that she go to a home with children that are middle schoolaged and over, and only calm dogs if any. Lacey is a two-year-old spayed female tan pit bull. She came to the Lancaster Animal Care Center after someone found her stranded on the side of the road, so she’s understand­ably a little anxious and shy. She gets along with other calm dogs but prefers to be in the company of people. It is required that she be placed in a home with middle school-aged children and over, and other calm dogs. Ferdinand is a six-year-old neutered cream male tabby. He came to the Lancaster Animal Care Center with three other cats after his owner unexpected­ly passed away. He’s the last one still at the center. He was a bit scared and hesitant at first, but he has blossomed into the sweetest boy who loves to cuddle.
