The most popular floors at the moment are luxury vinyls . It’s like laminates on steroids, lol. Most come in a plank wood look and there are tile looks as well. These floors are fully functional , waterproof and scratch resistant. Good looking and Ideal for active households , homes with pets or children or pool. Also good for kitchens ,bathrooms and laundry rooms often used commercially ,too. These products hold the ambient temperature of your room which saves energy. It’s a click together technology which makes installing easier. There are three types: -LVP: luxury vinyl planks with a vinyl flexible core are a bit plyable.
-SPC: these planks are more rigid with a limestone core and very hardy and dent resistant.
-WPC: is similar only use a wood plastic composite core also rigid.
These products are groutless and are so easy to clean with water or a vinyl cleaner. We say Less is better to prevent build up.
The higher use areas we recommend a thicker wear layer. 20mm is the thickest, usually lifetime warranty. This ware layer is the most important element in waterproof laminates and what we walk on.
The most difficult part of picking a floor is deciding what color!
Another ideal choice ,tried and true, for a desert home is :
-Porcelain tile. It’s a tough and waterproof and a long lasting product. It holds the temperature of the slab its on which our pets love in the summer. Generally we use porcelain on floors as it is strong and nonporous. Plus it Looks great and easy to clean. There are many looks, from wood to marble or faux stone. These come in a variety of sizes and colors . Often it takes a time or two into the showroom to choose. And:
-Ceramic tile. It’s material like planter pots are made of ,which is good as accents tiles and on walls verses floors.
We carry a variety of popular brands and our prices are fair. We also have backsplashes ,ideas from glitzy, glass and glam to subway or natural stone , a fine accent in any kitchen or bath. Let’s not forget :
-Carpets. We have it all , regular to plush even shag. We have patterned or plain in a wonderful array of colors for any pallet . We recommend a good Nylon fiber for high traffic areas. It’s also our recommendation per the manufacturers to steam clean about every 18 mos. Our standard pad is a step above what most offer. It feels great to step on, sit on or play with the kids and pets on!
Most of Today’s fibers are treated and keep stains and moisture on the surface, easily blotted off. Lots of people still prefer carpets in the bedrooms and family rooms. Then there is always the original floors made of:
-Wood. It’s organic and is classic beauty , a more traditional look. Our variety is sure to please even picky shoppers. We use high quality engineered wood and carry top of the line brands.
