84, of Mojave, passed away Nov. 8, 2021 at Ellison John Transition­al Care Center in Lancaster, Calif.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, Nov. 18 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Southern Baptist Church

in Mojave. Interment will be at Mojave Cemetery at a later date.

Morris was born Jan. 11, 1937 in Richmond, Va. He was the youngest of 13 children born to Jasper and Hester Blick.

Morris joined the Air Force in 1954 and retired in 1976 as a master sergeant at Edwards Air Force

Base in California. During his Air Force career, Morris met the love of his life, Sharon Kormier, while stationed in Reno, Nev.

They married in 1956 and were married for 50 years, until Sharon’s passing in 2006. They were blessed with three boys, Jim, David and Ken.

After retiring from the Air Force, he moved to Mojave and worked as a bus driver for the Mojave Unified School District before joining the Kern County Sheriff’s Department as a 911 dispatcher and then as a civil officer. After 20 years with the sheriff’s department, Morris retired once again, but he

soon found a part-time job as a security officer at the Mojave Air Port. After that he volunteere­d at the poppy reserve in Lancaster.

Morris was an Elder in the Community of Christ Church.

Morris is proceeded in death by his father and mother, Jasper and Hester Blick and 12 brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, James and Donna Blick of

Lovell, Wyo. and son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Kerrie Blick of Fremont, Neb., four grandchild­ren, 20 great-grandchild­ren and four great-great-grandchild­ren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to St. Jude's Hospital or The Wounded Warrior Project, in his name.
