Animal ID No.: A5483719 Animal name: Neptune
Neptune is a three-year-old, red-coated, altered male Siberian Husky that came to the Palmdale Animal Care Center as a stray, on June 5. Neptune was fearful but allowed being handled. As the handler approached the kennel, Neptune greeted him at the gate with soft eyes, a relaxed body and an open mouth pant. When his handler opened the gate, he retreated to the back of the kennel. The handler entered and began to verbally reassure him. Neptune slowly approached and the runner was able to easily loop leash him. He exited the kennel with an apprehensive walk. He required verbal praise and reassurance. Once they reached the outside of the building, Neptune willingly walked ahead of the runner with a moderate pull on the leash. He approached the fence and exchanged a good nose-to-nose greeting with a female Pitbull. When he entered the yard, he was quickly approached by a female Shepherd. He tolerated the Shepherd sniffing his body while simultaneously sniffing hers. He approached a female Pitbull and began to play bow at her feet. She accepted the invitation and a game of chase erupted. He displayed a gentle, dainty play style. He is recommended to a home with high school-aged children and seems to be OK to be with large dogs.
