JACKSONVIL­LE — The Jacksonvil­le High School Fine Arts Department will hold its second annual For the Love of the Arts celebratio­n of African-American heritage through fine arts at 6 p.m. at the school’s media center. The event will feature special musical and dramatic performanc­es, and an exhibition of artwork by current and former Jacksonvil­le High School students and by Jacksonvil­le art teacher Glenda McCune that pertains to the African-American culture. Refreshmen­ts will be served. Any

TUESDAY Faculty Piano Recital

SEARCY — Scott Carrell of Harding University will give a recital titled Men, Women and Pianos at 7 p.m. at the Reynolds Center Recital Hall at Harding.

Chili Supper

GREERS FERRY — The Holiday Hills United Methodist Men’s Group will hold its annual Fat Tuesday Chili Supper from 46:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall, 8824 Edgemont Road. The menu will feature chili and all the fixings, dessert and beverages. Dine-in and takeout options will be available. Tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for children. BEEBE — The White County Retired Teachers Associatio­n will meet at 2 p.m. at the Beebe Shepherd Center behind First Methodist Church. AWAKE Meeting

SEARCY — The Sleep Apnea Support Group, AWAKE (Alert, Well and Keeping Energetic) will have its first meeting at 3 p.m. at The Dixie Café . The meeting is open to anyone who has a sleep issue or uses a CPAP. Topics of discussion will include problems with sleep equipment and sleep studies. Community Health Education Session

BATESVILLE — White River Medical Center will hold a community health education session from noon to 1 p.m. in Conference Room B of the Josephine Raye Rogers Center for Women and Imaging. Cardiologi­st Dr. Garrett Sanford will present the program. Lunch will be provided.

Mardi Gras Dinner

HEBER SPRINGS — The women of St. Francis Episcopal Church will hold their annual Mardi Gras Dinner from 5-7:30 p.m. in the Parish Hall, 20 Woodland Cove just off Arkansas 110 across from the Heber Springs Sports Complex. The menu will feature shrimp gumbo, chicken gumbo, red beans and rice, salad, French bread, dessert and assorted beverages. Dine-in and takeout options are available. Tickets prices are $10 for adults and $4 for children ages 7-12. Children under 6 may eat free. Proceeds from the dinner will benefit the St. Francis Episcopal Church outreach ministries. Charity Bunko Bash

CABOT — The Junior Auxiliary of Cabot will hold a charity bunko bash at 6:30 p.m. at the National Guard Armory, 103 Commerce Park Drive in Cabot, as part of a Mardi Gras celebratio­n. Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door. Proceeds will benefit programs that support kids in need in the Cabot School District. There will be food, door prizes and a silent auction.
