Woman flung blades at lover, police say

A 20-year-old woman threw two knives at her boyfriend of three years while yelling at him Friday night, and one struck him in the throat, police said.

North Little Rock police officers observed a knife wound in the neck of Paul K. Hill, of 311 E. Eighth St., after being dispatched to an apartment at 2500 Willow St. on a disturbanc­e call about 9:30 p.m. Friday.

Hill refused medical treatment, but officers noted his neck was bleeding.

A security guard at the apartment complex originally responded and attempted to separate Hill from Shanitha Rogers.

Rogers, of 2500 Willow Apartment 805, was arrested and charged with second-degree domestic battery. She remained at the Pulaski County jail Saturday, where she was awaiting a bail hearing.

LR shooting leaves 1 injured, 1 arrested

A Little Rock man accused of shooting his ex-girlfriend’s brother was arrested Thursday, Little Rock police said.

Johnny Parks, 49, was charged with first-degree battery. He was no longer at the Pulaski County jail Saturday.

Police said Parks went to 1618 W. 26th St. seeking his ex-girlfriend, but the woman’s brother, Perry McGowan, 22, and others on the front porch told him she didn’t want to see him. The ex-girlfriend had told police that Parks called her several times that morning and went to her home, demanding she get inside his truck, which she refused to do.

During the altercatio­n, Parks shot McGowan, who was taken to UAMS Medical Center, police said.

Officers later found Parks at his parents’ home at 2801 Vancouver Drive, and he had a gunshot wound in his arm, police said, adding that he was treated and released from a hospital.

Unruly woman yelled threats, police say

A Little Rock woman accused of attempting to break into another woman’s home to “beat her a**” was arrested Friday, according to an arrest report.

North Little Rock officers were called about 10:20 a.m. to 3813 Freeman Circle, where they found a woman trying to kick in the front door, the report states. Officers told the woman to put her hands behind her back, but she refused, police said.

Officers grabbed her wrists and handcuffed her, but she continued to put up a fight, police said. The woman began cursing and screamed, “That b**** is scared to come to the door,” the report states.

The homeowner later told officers she spotted the woman kicking at the door and threatenin­g to beat her, the report states.

Kayla Clark, 22, was arrested and charged with attempted residentia­l burglary, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. She was no longer at the Pulaski County jail Saturday.
