YEN HOANG NGUYEN SEAN PHILLIP ALSTON
Yen Hoang Nguyen and Sean Phillip Alston exchanged marriage vows at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, in Our Lady of the Holy Souls Catholic Church with the Rev. Erik Pohlmeier officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Hai and Phuong Nguyen of Hot Springs. Her grandparents are Lieu Tran and the late Dieu Nguyen and Hong Pham and the late Chu Phap, all of Hot Springs.
Parents of the groom are Leila and Al Dockery of Little Rock and Dr. Phillip Alston of North Little Rock. His grandparents are Vivian and Dr. H.D. Alston of Jonesboro and Ouida Beth and the late Harmon Bean of Russellville.
Arrangements of blue and white hydrangeas, roses, dahlias and peonies decorated the chancel. Music was by organist Fred Graham and the Vietnamese Choir of Little Rock.
The bride, given in marriage by her parents, wore an ivory ruched A-line gown embellished with beading on the sweetheart neckline. She carried a bouquet of ivory dahlias and peonies.
Matron of honor was Tram Nobles of Fayetteville, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Teresa Le of Charleston, S.C.; Magen Strimple of St. Marys, Ga.; Shelby Deardorff of Fayetteville; Jana Alston of Tifton, Ga., sister of the groom; and Marcie Roberts of Houston. They wore knee-length navy gowns in the style of their choice and carried bouquets of dahlias.
Flower girls were Leah Nguyen of Hot Springs and Mai Nobles of Fayetteville, nieces of the bride. Ring bearer was Khai Nobles of Fayetteville, nephew of the bride.
Serving as best man was Jacob Hoper of Little Rock. Groomsmen were Reid Weatherford of North Little Rock; Brett Blakely of Fayetteville; and Kyle West, Jared Coleman and Joshua Spillyards, all of Little Rock.
A reception at Next Level Events followed the ceremony.
The bride graduated from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville with a bachelor’s degree in marketing. She works in reverse logistics for CEVA Logistics.
The groom has a bachelor’s degree in marketing from the university. He is employed in logistics vendor management for Apple Inc.
After a wedding trip to Costa Rica, the couple will reside in Austin, Texas.
