KATIE MARIE NIELSEN ZACHARY ALAN STAUBER
St. John’s Chapel by the Creek in Benton was the setting at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, for the marriage of Katie Marie Nielsen and Zachary Alan Stauber. The Rev. Jeff Herring of Oak Park Baptist Church officiated.
Parents of the bride are Debbie and Doug Nielsen of Benton. Her grandparents are the late Ruby and Rev. E.G. Nielsen of Hot Springs and the late Claudia and A.J. Crain of Benton.
The groom is the son of Karol and James Stauber, 7 Camelia Circle. He is the grandson of Bertha and Bill Highfill and the late Joyce and James Stauber, all of Little Rock.
Given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore a strapless trumpet-style gown embellished with embroidery and lace. The bodice had a modified sweetheart neckline and the skirt extended to a chapel train. She carried a bouquet of anemone, tulips, cornflowers and hydrangeas.
Amanda Frazier of Jacksonville served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Kathryn Kersey and Amanda Stauber, sister of the groom, both of Little Rock. They wore navy gowns with square necklines and embellished with fabric flowers. They carried greenand-white bouquets similar to the bride’s.
Tristan Knoedl of Rison was best man. Groomsmen were Marc Irwin of Cordova, Tenn., and Steve Dyer of Norman, Okla. Guests were seated by Jeff Frazier of Jacksonville and Scott Lackey and Matt Irwin, both of Benton.
A reception at the chapel’s Oakwood Terrace followed the ceremony. Guest tables alternated arrangements of glassware with submerged branches and floating candles, and low arrangements of wedding flowers. The buffet featured a floral arrangement in shades of white, green and navy.
The bride has a bachelor’s degree in history from Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, where she was named to the dean’s list.
The groom has a bachelor’s degree in aviation from Henderson State University in Arkadelphia and is a P-3 Orion pilot for the Navy.
After a honeymoon on Amelia Island, Fla., the couple will reside in Jacksonville, Fla.
