OAK STREET FLEA MARKET

New, used and custom furniture available

-

Bargain hunters searching for good deals in Conway have a new shopping spot available to them. The recently opened Oak Street Flea Market near downtown Conway specializes in home decor and has a wide variety of new, used, antique and uniquely redone furniture.

Owners Holli Byers and her fiance, Dale Copeland, were approached in late May about renting the more than 10,000-square-foot building. They had an accepted first offer in June and opened July 1. “It happened very fast,” Byers said.

“I love the idea of giving old, discarded items new meaning, purpose and life,” she said. “The old saying ‘one man’s junk is another man’s treasure’ is so true.”

Byers and Copeland opened with the idea of making their store a cross between a furniture store and a flea market. “We started out with our products and 10 other vendors, trying to fill only part of the building. We planned on opening the rest of the building in January, figuring it would take that long to do so,” Byers said.

However, because of the support they have received, she said the remaining part will open by the end of October.

Byers said what sets the store apart from others is the atmosphere, customer service and types of vendors and items they carry.

“If a customer has a special piece that they would like redone, there are several vendors that will do that for them,” she said. “We also take consignment pieces and are working on opening up an auction house.”

Booth space is still available for those who are interested in selling their items at Oak Street Flea Market. Contact Byers or Copeland at 501-339-1820 for more information.
