Daredevils cap off folk fest; Santana plays AMP pavilion
The Ozark Mountain Daredevils, with Brewer & Shipley and Danny Cox, will headline the main show of the the 67th annual Original Ozark Folk Festival at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at The Auditorium, 36 S. Main St., Eureka Springs. The Daredevils are known for their ’70s hits “Jackie Blue” and “If You Want to Get to Heaven.”

The festival kicks off Wednesday and continues through Saturday in and around Eureka Springs. Events include the annual Barefoot Ball, 7 p.m. Thursday at the Basin Park Hotel, 12 Spring St.; Cindy Woolf Band featuring Mark Bilyeu of Big Smith will take the stage at 8 p.m. Tickets are $12.
There will also be free performances starting at noon Friday-Saturday in Basin Spring Park. At 2 p.m. Saturday the annual Folk Festival parade will roll down Spring and Main streets, route from the library to the courthouse. A complete schedule is available at OzarkFolkFestival.com.
Santana at AMP
Santana will perform at 7 p.m. today at the Walmart Arkansas Music Pavilion, 5079 W. Northgate Road, Rogers. Doors open at 6. Tickets are $39-$129. One of the most influential guitarists in the rock era, Carlos Santana is known for songs such as “Black Magic Woman,” “Oye Como Va” and “Smooth.”

Murder’s Afoot
An actor (Don Bolinger), renowned for his portrayal of Sherlock Holmes, must channel the character to track down the killer of one of his weekend house guests in The Game’s Afoot by Ken Ludwig, opening Tuesday and onstage through Nov. 8 at Murry’s Dinner Playhouse, 6323 Colonel Glenn Road, Little Rock.
Curtain times are 7:45 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday (except for Wednesdays this week and Oct. 15 and 22, when there are 12:45 p.m. Wednesday matinees and no Wednesday evening performances), 12:45 and 6:45 p.m. Sunday. Doors and the buffet open 90 minutes before curtain.

Wind ensemble
The University of Arkansas at Little Rock Wind Ensemble will give a concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Stella Boyle Smith Concert Hall, Fine Arts Building, UALR, 2801 S. University Ave., Little Rock.
The program includes James Curnow’s Fanfare and Flourishes (for a festive occasion), Lewiston March by John Paff, October by Eric Whitacre and “Prelude, Siciliano and Rondo,” part of Malcom Arnold’s Little Suite for Brass, op.80, adapted by John Paynter. Darrell Smith conducts.

Museum’s Vikings
