What subjects do you teach?

I teach World Geography/Contemporary U.S. History for ninth through 12th grades. I also teach United States History and Pre-AP U.S. History for 11th grade.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

I have taught for 13 years, and I enjoy the interaction with students the most. I am thrilled when I encourage students to love history. Teachers have the opportunity to develop students’ attitudes and decisions, and that is an honor.

What outdoor activities do you enjoy in Mountain View?

Mountain View’s scenery is breathtaking. My favorite childhood memory is going to Blanchard Springs and swimming in the creeks. Now I enjoy walking or riding my bicycle in my neighborhood. I have a beautiful view of mountains.

How long have you lived in Mountain View?

I have lived in Mountain View all my life. I was born in the Mountain View Hospital and attended Mountain View School. My family has been here since the 1840s. The only time I have not lived in Mountain View is when I attended Arkansas State University in Jonesboro.

What makes your city a great place to raise a family?

Mountain View is a wonderful and safe place to raise children. People from large cities are shocked that we walk around town without fear of muggings or shootings. As a parent, that fact is extremely comforting.
