2-vehicle collision kills Ward man, 24

A Ward man died in a two-vehicle collision in Lonoke County on Thursday afternoon, Arkansas State Police said.

Joshua Garcia, 24, was a passenger in a 1991 Honda Accord traveling west on Arkansas 236 that failed to yield at the intersection with Arkansas 89 and was struck by a 2013 Mack truck traveling south, state police reported. The crash occurred about 1:40 p.m. Thursday.

The driver of the Honda, Joshua Ellis, 23, of Austin was injured and transported to UAMS Medical Center, state police said. The driver of the truck, Johnny White, 26, of Damascus, was not injured.

State police reported that conditions were cloudy and the road was wet at the time of the wreck.
