Poetry in motion
Gary Glazner, (top left) a poet and director of the Alzheimer’s Poetry Project, leads creative-writing students from Parkview High School and Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System staff members in bird-in-flight motions as they interact with patients in the Community Living Center and Adult Day Care Center at the Eugene J. Towbin Healthcare Center in North Little Rock. The group was reciting a poem compiled from comments made by the patients when asked where they would go if they could fly — all part of a Poetry for Life project that was sponsored by the Arkansas Arts Council, Glazner and the Alzheimer’s Poetry Project.
