Local Easter-egg hunts
With Easter on its way, local municipalities and churches are organizing Easter-egg hunts across the Three Rivers
Edition coverage area. An Easter-egg hunt in Jacksonville will be held March 28 at Excell Park, 1500 Ray Road. Children up to age 10 are welcome to participate in the hunt, which will offer about 2,000 eggs per age group. The Easter Bunny will be on hand for the festivities. In case of rain, all participants are asked to go to the Jacksonville Community Center.
While the setting for the majority of Easter-egg hunts is an open outdoor area, another kind of hunt will be held March 30 at the Jacksonville Community Center, 5 Municipal Drive. There, children ages 3 to 12 can take a plunge into the center’s pool for the Underwater Easter-Egg Hunt. Egg contents will include prizes such as toys and Splash Zone passes. Admission to this fundraiser is $5 per person. For more information, call (501) 982-4171 or (501) 9824316.
Just off U.S. 67/167 in Beebe, First United Methodist Church will offer its annual Easter-egg hunt at 5 p.m. April 3. This is a communitywide event at Daniel Park, and hot dogs will be provided. For more information, contact the church at (501) 882-6427.
