Media Archaeology Speaker CONWAY — The Hendrix College Department of Art will host media archaeologist, author and exhibition curator Erkki Huhtamo at 5 p.m. in Art Building A 110 on Front Street. He will present a lecture, Cranking Into the Future: Art and the Media-Archaeological Imagination. Huhtamo is a media history and theory professor at the University of California Los Angeles and is known internationally as a pioneer of media archaeology. The free lecture is open to the public. Classical Guitar Concert CONWAY — Classical guitarist Peter Fletcher will give a concert at 7 p.m. at the Faulkner County Library. Fletcher has performed at Carnegie Hall and other locations in New York, Chicago and Atlanta, as well as throughout the country. He has made many radio and television appearances and was the featured artist on the national website Guitar International. Fletcher’s recordings have received critical acclaim, and his current release is Peter Fletcher Plays Baroque Music for Guitar on the Towerhill Recordings label. FRIDAY Adult Softball Registration Deadline RUSSELLVILLE — The deadline for teams to register for the Russellville Recreation and Parks Department Summer Adult Softball League is 5 p.m. Friday. Teams that register must pay a fee and submit the entry form, along with a team roster. All forms are available at the Hughes Community Center, 1000 E. Parkway. DAR Meeting CLINTON — The Maria Van Buren Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution will meet at 1 p.m. at Simmons Bank. Brooke Keith will speak on women’s health issues.
Spaghetti Dinner NEW DIXIE — St. Boniface Catholic Church will have a spaghetti and sausage dinner from 4-7:30 p.m. in St. Boniface Hall. The dinner will feature homemade rolls and cobbler. Second Saturday Bingo HEBER SPRINGS — Second Saturday Bingo will be held at St. Albert Catholic Church, 21 Park Road. The event will begin with quick-fire games at 5:30 p.m. Play will continue until someone wins $500. A concession stand will be available, as well as homemade desserts.
