2 arrested after bank in Subiaco robbed

-

Two Logan County men were arrested Friday in the armed robbery of the Subiaco Federal Credit Union in Subiaco.

Logan County Sheriff Boyd Hicks said the robbery occurred about 9:40 a.m. Friday. Two men entered the building, one of them carrying a gun, and took an undisclosed amount of money, Hicks said.

About an hour later, Logan County deputies spotted a Ford Mustang used by the robbers, the sheriff said. It was parked behind the Friendly Tavern in Scranton.

When a deputy went inside, one man ran out the front door, where another deputy was waiting. Hicks said the deputy used a stun gun to subdue him.

The deputies arrested Shawn Highman, 44, of Paris — who authorities believe has used aliases — and Brandon James, 30, of Subiaco. Hicks said he will do some research to determine if the name on Highman’s driver’s license is, in fact, his name.

Hicks said the Ford Mustang was searched, and officers found a gun and clothing that matched a description of what the robbers wore.

Hicks said his office was assisted by sheriff’s offices in Johnson and Yell counties, as well as the U.S. Forest Service and police departments in Dardanelle, Paris and Clarksville.
