Friendship Community Care seeks donations in #GivingTuesday
RUSSELLVILLE — Friendship Community Care in Russellville has joined #GivingTuesday, which will be Dec. 1, a global day of giving to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide.
Those who are interested in joining Friendship Community Care’s #GivingTuesday initiative can visit www.fccare.org to make a huge impact from the comfort of their own couches, said Theresa White, director of communications.
She said a $5 online donation will help the organization “empower independence and dignity for children and adults born with disabilities.” To see how the money would make a difference, White said, stories of impact can be found at www.fccare.exposure.com.
For more information on other ways to contribute or partner with a Friendship Community Care facility, contact White at (479) 967-2322, ext. 313, or whitet@fccare.org.
Friendship Community Care has been serving children and adults born with disabilities throughout the state of Arkansas for 43 years, but this is the first year the organization has joined the movement, White said.
“We plan to expand our reach at the community level through recreational programs that will connect the individuals we serve with new friends — this is the heart of our mission and what we hope to raise funds for this year,” White said.
