DOROTHY MAE BALCH, 87, passed away February 4, 2016. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Henry and her daughter Beverly. She is survived by her daughter and son- in- law, Janet and Lawrence McNeil, daughter, Patti Perez of North Little Rock, and two grandchild­ren of Olewein, Iowa. ––––– – –––– CLARA MAE BALL, age 80, of Little Rock died Sunday, February 7, 2016 in Benton. She was born October 24, 1935 to the late George and Loretta Voss. She worked with the Kolor Print Inc. and Western Foods Co. in the Little Rock area.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, C. F. Malcom and George A. Ball; a daughter, Carolyn Annette Malcom and a brother, Lewis Voss. Survivors are her children, Jeannie Campbell of Rockville, Maryland, Laura Lawrence and Steve Malcom both of Alexander; five grandchild­ren, Hunter Lawrence, Spencer Lawrence, Erin Foster, Kerri Campbell and Carl Robinson; one great- grandchild, Logan Foster and one sister, Emma Thomason of Arkadelphi­a.

––––– – –––– GARY DEAN COZAD, 70, of Jacksonvil­le, passed away on February 6, 2016. He was born on April 28, 1945 in Muscatine, Iowa to the late Clifford Warren and Velma Arnet ( Conner) Cozad. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother; Ronald Cozad. Gary was the Manager at Truckomat for 30 years. He served in the United States Marine Corps and was a member of the American Legion. Survivors include his fiance, Cathy Jackson, one brother; Dennis Cozad, three stepsons; Ralph, Ronald and Robert Farmer, numerous grandchild­ren and two great- grandchild­ren. ––––– – –––– BILL LEWELLEN, 79, of Maumelle, retired Executive Vice- President of Rebsamen Insurance, departed his earthly life on February 6, 2016. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Reva; two sons, Todd ( Melanie) and Scott ( Assiah); grandchild­ren, Nathaniel, Nick, Brin, Fox Lewellen and Courtney Hampton; and two brothers, Gene and Jim Lewellen. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Tom Lewellen.

Bill was born in Little Rock on October 2, 1936 to Joseph and Francis Abrams Lewellen. He graduated from Mabelvale High School in 1954 and attended Little Rock University ( UALR) and Arkansas Law School. He married his high school sweetheart in 1957 after finishing a tour of duty in the U. S. Army in Austria and Italy. Bill fulfilled his childhood dream of becoming a pilot, logging over 8,000 hours. He was president of the Arkansas Aviation Historical Society and was elected to the board of directors of the Aerospace Education Center. He spent most of his profession­al career in the insurance field receiving several awards from the Agricultur­al Aviation Associatio­ns in Arkansas and Louisiana. Bill also campaigned for and was elected to the Pulaski County Quorum Court in 1980.

Bill served as a deacon and Vice Chairman of the Board at Parkview Christian Church. He later became a devoted attendee at Fellowship Bible Church. He was an avid golfer, passionate fisherman, meticulous about his yard work, and loved to read, but his proudest accomplish­ment in life was being the world’s best Gramps.

––––– – –––– EDDIE M. REESER, 97, of Little Rock died Feb. 3, 2016. He was born May 25, 1918 in El Reno, Okla. the son of Marshall M. Reeser and Gertrude ( Lewellan) Reeser. He had four brothers and two sisters. A member of Lifeline Baptist Church, Mr. Reeser loved baseball and travel.

( Gene- Deceased) of Huntsville, Ala. and Eddie Lou ( Richard) Sparrow of Vilonia, Ark., a son, Edwin M. “Pete” ( Carole) Reeser of Milton, Fla., a sister, Betty Haney ( George) of Oklahoma City, Okla., nine grandchild­ren and 17 great- grandchild­ren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his four brothers and one infant sister, and the love of his life, Luella Crews Reeser.

––––– – –––– BENTON — Edna Mae Barnett of Benton, Arkansas, was called to Heaven, Friday, February 5th, 2016. She was 84 and was born in Hermosa Beach, California. She was a beauty queen; she loved to dance and was the life of the party. Mom gave all that up to raise her four children and moved to Arkansas in 1971. In her later life she loved growing roses, watching the birds at her feeders and spending time with her kids.

Edna was a strong- willed woman and did things her way, while teaching us strength and perseveran­ce and we will miss her terribly. She is survived by her children Tyra Burnett, Michael Burnett and Steven Barnett and family. She was preceded in death by her husband Dean Burnett and a son, Gary Burnett.

She was born September 20, 1928, in Humphrey, Arkansas, to the late Clinton and Anna Mae Yarbough. Louise was a beautiful person inside and out. She was a strong woman of God and a loving mother and grandmothe­r, her family and faith always coming first in her life. Louise was a cosmetolog­ist for over 60 years; where she owned her own salon and was a beauty instructor.

Louise is preceded in death by her first husband, Orman G. Bell, who lost his life while serving in WWII; husband, Orlin L. Osborne of 34 years; her parents; brother, Lorell Yarbough; sister, Margaret Poe and daughter- inlaw, Joan Bell. Louise is survived by her children, Sandra Barrett ( Bob) and Gary Bell ( Ruth); three grandchild­ren, Eric O’Neal, Ginger Taylor, and David Bell; eight great- grandchild­ren and four great- great- grandchild­ren and a host of family and friends who all loved her and will miss her dearly.

––––– – –––– CONWAY — Noted birdwatche­r and community servant Betty Jean ( Sugg) Courtway departed this life on Friday, February 5, 2016 at the age of 86. She was born on February 27, 1929 in Memphis, Tenn., the oldest child and only daughter of Thomas L. and Lona L. Sugg. Her father was employed by the Missouri Pacific Railroad, and the family moved numerous times before settling in Wynne, Ark., where she graduated from Wynne High School in 1947. Betty attended St. Joseph School of Nursing in Memphis for one year, returning home to care for her younger brothers following the death of her mother.

In 1948 Betty married Bob Courtway and she joined him in Conway where they both attended Arkansas State Teachers College. While at ASTC she played on the tennis team and developed her lifelong love of the sport. Although the Arkansas Intercolle­giate Conference did not formally recognize women’s tennis at the time, she was a teammate on the winning women’s doubles team in 1949 and the singles champion in 1950.

Bob graduated from ASTC in 1950 and began his first coaching job at Holly Grove, and Betty also taught in the school district there. During their four years there, her oldest son Tom was born. In 1954 the family moved to Wilson, where both Bob and Betty taught in the school district. During the seven years in Wilson, three more sons were born: Bobby, John and Jeff.

In 1961 the family moved back to Conway, where Bob was hired as the Hendrix swimming coach. Moving back to Conway allowed Betty to complete her undergradu­ate degree in 1964. The following year saw the birth of her only daughter, Susie. Betty began teaching kindergart­en the next year and would continue until her retirement in 1993.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Ray Sugg, and her husband of 48 years, Bob. She is survived by her five children, 14 grandchild­ren and three great- grandchild­ren. Survivors include Tom ( Melissa) Courtway, Corey ( Chelsey) Davidson, Drew ( Alicia) Courtway, Ryan ( Janine) Davidson, Brad ( Caity) Courtway, Robert ( Myung Hee) Courtway, Jessica Courtway, Allen Courtway, John ( Claudia) Courtway, Katy Courtway, Rob Courtway, Jenny Courtway, Annie Courtway, Heidi Courtway, Jeff ( Brooks Anne) Courtway, Lauren Courtway, Erin ( E. J.) Roussell, Colton Courtway and Susie Courtway. She is also survived by her five brothers, Richard ( Pat) Sugg of Wichita Falls, Texas, Robert ( Darlene) Sugg of Dyersburg, Tenn., Jim ( Lou) Sugg of Wynne, Jack ( Janet) Sugg of Jonesboro, and Ronnie ( Marjorie) Sugg of Zephyrhill­s, Fla.

Betty was a member of First United Methodist Church of Conway, the Faulkner County Retired Teachers, Conway Regional Medical Center Auxiliary, Friends of the Faulkner County Library, and the Conway Civic League. Betty loved the outdoors, birdwatchi­ng, tennis, music, gardening, and spending time with her grandchild­ren and great- grandchild­ren.

––––– – –––– PERRYVILLE — Walter H. Willis Jr., 69, of Perryville, Arkansas died February 3, 2016. Born April 16, 1946 at Little Rock, Arkansas, he was the son of Walter Herman Willis Sr. and Sally Fay Ray Willis. Walter was retired from Arkansas State Police, and owned and operated a funeral escort service in Little Rock for many years in Little Rock. He served in the United States Army in Germany in the early 1960s.

Preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Louis Willis and Ronnie Willis, he is survived by two aunts, Wanda Arnold of Perryville and Nell Stuckey of Imperial Beach, California.

––––– – –––– PINE BLUFF — William ( Bill) C. Kulbeth, 80, of Pine Bluff went home to be with his Lord Monday, February 5, 2016. He was born August 28, 1935, to the late D. C. Kulbeth and Mable Kulbeth Nichols. Mr. Kulbeth faithfully served his country for two years in the United States Army

and worked as a scale officer for Mid America Co. for over 30 years. He was an avid fisherman and loving husband and father.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Kulbeth and two sisters, Opal Pharr and Genice Swanson. ––––– – –––– SHIRLEY — Earlon Anthony Krzeszinsk­i, 87, of Shirley, Arkansas was born on December 25, 1928 to the late William Boyd and Gertrude ( Scott) Krzeszinsk­i in Cypress Inn, Tennessee and passed from this life on February 5, 2016 at his home in Shirley. He was a WWII and Korean War Navy veteran, a lifelong member of the VFW, a member of the Shirley Fire Department, a prominent builder in Fairfield Bay, Arkansas, and longtime resident of Shirley.
