Was great experience

-

Whoever did page layout on the Voices page on July 21st did a great job, in my opinion. The last three letters were great reading.

Linda Barnes of Prairie Grove on capital punishment, from someone with a dog in the fight, was right on. Over the years we’ve seen dozens from all over the country set free from death row. Many were there for decades, often because of police or prosecutorial corruption. How can anyone of conscience still see it as an acceptable punishment? Since the murders keep happening, it is certainly not a deterrent.

After this very serious, sad subject, Karl Hansen of Hensley made my day. Often feeling very lonely in our bloodred state, his letter was a delight. To be able to take topics from your paper’s headlines and make someone almost laugh out loud is a talent. If he’s not a writer by profession, he could be.

The icing on the bottom of the cake was Gary Uselton’s letter on plagiarism. These three letters made a great reading experience. GINA DEAN Jacksonville
