UCA Day of Giving campaign breaks records

-

CONWAY — The University of Central Arkansas raised $41,504.80 from 1,154 donors during its third annual UCA Day of Giving campaign March 16, marking an increase in money raised for the third consecutive year.

“We are moved by the generosity of our faculty, staff, students and alumni during our Day of Giving,” UCA President Houston Davis said. “All the way to the final hour, the level of participation and enthusiasm was remarkable.”

The impact made on the Day of Giving stretches all across campus and includes financing student scholarships, program enhancements, faculty research grants and more.

“Throughout the day, we kept our alumni, friends and the UCA community updated through email, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter,” said Haley Fowler, director of annual giving.

“It is so exciting to see how alumni, faculty, staff, students and friends can all come together and make a huge impact in 24 hours,” she said.

“When everyone comes together, those gifts add up to make a big impact. There has never been more pressure on universities to increase private funding as state funding remains flat. Whatever the greatest need is at that time, the only way to make up the difference is through private support,” Fowler said.

“It was wonderful to see how UCA faculty and staff supported the Day of Giving,” said Joycelin Randle, executive director of development. “It shows just how deeply they care about our students and university.”

Although the Day of Giving is over, contributions can still be made online at uca.edu/give or by calling (501) 450-5859.
