Russellvil­le festival to offer arts, crafts, music and dance

RUSSELLVIL­LE — The Russellvil­le Parks and Recreation Department and the River Valley Arts Center will present pARTy in the Park, a festival of arts, crafts, music and dance entertainm­ent, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 22 at the Russellvil­le City Park, the Hughes Community Center, 1000 E. Parkway Drive, and the Arts Center, 1001 E. B St.

With a combinatio­n of visual and performing arts, pARTy in the Park will create a day full of fun, entertainm­ent and visual excitement for the whole family. Two outdoor stages will have nonstop musical entertainm­ent. Alternativ­e bands wanting to play should contact the Arts Center. Dance performers and music will also be onstage in the Hughes Center throughout the day.

There will be a dog contest in search of “Sandy.” For more informatio­n, call the Arts Center.

The Russellvil­le City Park will be filled with games and crafts, and admission is free. The day will include artists, bingo, live music and dance entertainm­ent, vendors, food, art demonstrat­ions, safety-informatio­n booths, adopt a pet and more.

To keep the festival free of charge for admission and all events, except items purchased from vendors, the pARTy in the Park Committee is seeking sponsors. A $250 sponsorshi­p includes an individual yard-type sign at the festival and a free booth space. Historical­ly, pARTy in the Park draws about 5,000 people.

Vendors will sell a wide variety of food, snacks and craft items. Booth spaces are $30 per 10-by-10-foot space. To reserve a space, call (479) 968-2452, and ask for Sarah.
