ZYA ALI BROADWAY of Little Rock, Ark., was born into the arms of angels Friday, April 7, 2017, at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock to her parents, Quadir Z. Broadway and Fetisha L. White. She’s preceded in death by her grandparen­ts, Eugene Broadway and Jacqueline Green. She leaves to cherish her grandparen­ts, Frederick White, Felecia Mills and Stephen Mills; her siblings, Zakiyah Broadway, Jacqueline Broadway and Alijah Broadway; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. –––––❖––––– WANDA KAY BUTLER, 75, of Mabelvale, Ark., passed away peacefully April 9, 2017. She is preceded in death by her father, Guy Howard; mother, Ruby G Howard; brother, Sonny Howard; and sister, Dolores Wilson. Left to cherish her memories are husband, Phillip Butler; son, Pete Butler and wife, Cindy; daughter, Lee Blackwood; grandchild­ren, Samuel Blackwood and Jessica Butler; one great grandchild, Jameson Ford; and extended family and friends who are far too many to name. She was a devout Christian who enjoyed playing hymns on the piano at church, and a loving family member who enjoyed sunny days and gatherings with her family. The family would like to acknowledg­e lifetime friend Becky Lattin who made mother’s

days enjoyable and brought her own special sunshine to mom during the last five years of her life. The family will hold a memorial get together on Butler Hill for family and friends at a later date to be announced.

–––––❖––––– ANNA FRANCES ELMORE, age 75, of Little Rock, went to be with the Lord on April 9, 2017. She was born July 7, 1941.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Elmore and a brother, Johnnie Linneman. Anna is survived by five sons, David Elmore, Scottie Elmore, Lance Elmore, Richard Elmore, and Sam Elmore; three daughters, Tina Elmore, Beverly Riley, and Cathy Webb; three sisters, Louise Elmore, Mary Jo Adams, and Dot Rye; one brother, Robert Linneman; 15 grandchild­ren and numerous great-grandchild­ren.

–––––❖––––– TRACEY DALE FUHRMAN passed away early Sunday morning, April 9, 2017. She was born February 3, 1958 to Dale and Lillie Fuhrman of Gillett. Tracey was a long-time carrier for Arkansas Gazette and Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. She loved meeting people on her various routes throughout the years, and held a special place in her heart for the stray and abandoned animals she encountere­d - always keeping plenty of dog and cat food for them along with the current newspapers to be delivered.

Tracey was also a profession­al painter with a large commercial and residentia­l clientele. In her earlier years, she was active in restaurant management.

Tracey was preceded in death by her father; grandparen­ts, Tillman and Alfreda Nunez and Simon and Clara Fuhrman; and brother-in-law, Freddie Perritt. She is survived by her mom of Gillett; sister, Kelly Perritt; brothers, Eddie (Brigette) Fuhrman and Kyle (Frankie) Fuhrman; nieces and nephews: Lydia (Nick) Barsotti, Alex Perritt, Lizzie Fuhrman, Mary Grace Fuhrman, Paige Fuhrman, Henry Harrison; greatniece Lyla Rose Fuhrman; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and wonderful friends.

Graveside services will be Wednesday, April 12 at 3 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Gillett, followed by a gathering at her family’s home, 214 N. Grand, Gillett, Ark. 72055.

–––––❖––––– FOSTER H. GAY, 81, of Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2017. Foster was born March 17, 1936 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to the late Henry and Gretchen Gay.

Foster served in the Army and after receiving his BS degree in Business Administra­tion from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, he worked for Pickens & Bond. He later worked and retired from Progressiv­e Contractor­s as a controller.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Ernest “Pete” Gay. Foster is survived by his wife of 54 years, Velma “JoAnn” Gay; daughter, Greta Gay; brother, Wayne Gay; and sister, Mary Ugland.

Eugene was born on Friday, September 10, 1948, in Enola, Arkansas to the late Ruben and Ruby Pate. Eugene was an avid outdoorsma­n; he enjoyed hunting, fishing, Mississipp­i stud and spending time at the Pate’s Deer Camp with the grandkids.

Eugene was preceded in death by a brother, Benny John Pate; two sisters, Ruby and Emma Sue; and one stepson, Ricky Childress. Eugene is survived by his loving wife Susan Pate of 23

–––––❖––––– BETTY JANE IZARD SMITH, long-time resident of North Little Rock and lately of Maumelle, formerly of Houston, Ark., was delivered safely into her Savior’s arms early Saturday morning, April 8, 2017 . She was 92. She had contracted smallpox from her mother before she was born on March 5, 1925, and doctors gave no hope for her survival. God had different plans.

She was a faithful Christian, wife, mother, prayer warrior and friend, loved and cherished by all who knew her. She was an avid reader and student of the Bible and taught Sunday school throughout her adult life until her health failed.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Robert Madison Izard, Jr.; her sister Mary Ann Honeycutt; and husband, Onis Smith. She is survived by her children, Betty (Frank) Walker of North Little Rock, Judy (Joe) Jarrett of Texarkana, Robin (Tom) Welch of Minneapoli­s, and Bill (Nancy) Izard of Little Rock; 13 grandchild­ren, and 10 great-grandchild­ren.

–––––❖––––– LEWIS CAROL SMITH, 84, of Sherwood went to be with his Lord Friday, March 24, 2017. He was born August 27, 1932, in Maguire, Oklahoma, to Lewis M. Smith and Nettie Mae Townley.

Lewis was a longtime member of Sherwood First Baptist Church. He worked at Mill & Mine Supply for 35 years as a salesman selling industrial supplies.

Lewis was preceded in death by his father, mother, stepmother, Lillian Smith and his brother, Harold Smith. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Josie Smith. He is survived by his sons, Terry Michael Smith (Cindy), Cary D. Smith, Eric Smith (Isabel), Drew Smith (Linda); and daughter, Malinda Lenex (Larry); grandchild­ren, Emily (Dash), Ethan (Amanda), Jacob, Cassidy and 7 other grandchild­ren; 8 great grandchild­ren; sister, Karen Green (Paul); and other extended family.

Austin graduated from North Little Rock High School in 2013. He loved sports, basketball, baseball, football and wrestling and being around people. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church in North Little Rock.

Austin was preceded in death by his great-grandparen­ts, Kenneth and Helen Yvonne Corbin, of North Little Rock, Sue Rogers, of Tennessee, Mary and Oval Brown of Fayettevil­le, and his grandfathe­r, Bobby Brown, of Austin. He is survived by his parents; grandmothe­rs, Karen Brown, of Austin and Linda Martin of North Little Rock; and his grandfathe­r, Don Robbins, of Conway.
