‘Dogged’ drama
An exceptionally intelligent 15-year-old boy, however ill-equipped to interpret everyday life, sets out to identify the actual culprit while he’s under suspicion for killing his neighbor’s dog, in The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, adapted by Simon Stephens from Mark Haddon’s novel of the same name (and winner of five 2015 Tony Awards, including Best Play).

Civil rights panel
Jazz trumpeter Terence Blanchard and New York Times columnist Charles Blow will discuss the state of civil rights in the United States, the Black Lives Matter Movement and music and the arts as a catalyst for unity in “Civil Rights and the Arts in 2017 America: A Conversation With Terence Blanchard and Charles Blow,” 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center, 501 W. Spring Job Fair
Approximately 50 businesses will have representatives to meet with about 2,000 job seekers at the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette and the Central Arkansas Human Resources Association’s Spring Job Fair, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday at the Statehouse Convention Center, Markham and Main streets, Little Rock. Human resources professionals will help job seekers perfect their interview techniques via mock interviews scheduled throughout the show, starting at 10:30 a.m. Association representatives will conduct resume reviews for job seekers; no appointment is necessary. The event will also feature panel discussions and seminars.

The theater will hold auditions for Euridyce by Sarah Ruhl, 7 p.m. April 24 at the theater, with callbacks April 25. Director Summer Ferguson will cast between three and five men and two and five women, ages 20-45. Men auditioning for the role of Orpheus will need to prepare a 30-second a capella piece of their choosing; they can accompany themselves with an acoustic guitar if desired. The Arkansas Symphony Orchestra Guild will hold its “Rhythm on the River” fundraiser April 28 in the second-floor William Grant Still Ballroom, Robinson Center, 426 W. Following a cocktail hour (6:30-7:30 p.m.) featuring music by jazz pianist Tom Cox, a 7:30 buffet dinner will include carving stations serving prime rib and roast turkey, plus potatoes, vegetables, salads and desserts, with the B Flats providing dance music.
