UCA’s Youth Theatre to host summer program

CONWAY — The Youth Theatre of Central Arkansas will host its annual Summer Intensive Program on June 5 to July 15 for students in grades five through 12.

The program, which will run Monday through Friday during those dates, will take place in the Snow Fine Arts Center at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway.

The YTCA Summer Intensive Program includes the Junior Theatre Intensive for students in grades five through eight from 9 a.m. to noon, and the Senior Theatre Intensive for students in grades nine through 12 from 1-4 pm.

The training will culminate in rehearsed performanc­es open to the public at 7 p.m. July 13 and 14, and at 2 p.m. July 15 in the Bridges/Larson Theatre.

The UCA Theatre is dedicated to providing quality theater training to the youth of central Arkansas. As the only university-supported theater academy in the state for young people, YTCA offers preparatio­n in a profession­al environmen­t — onstage and behind the scenes.

Registrati­on and fees are due by May 31. More detailed informatio­n and registrati­on applicatio­ns are available at www.uca. edu/theatre/summer-intensive. The general registrati­on fee for this six-week program is $375. There are early-bird specials, multichild discounts and grant opportunit­ies.
