MISSOURI Offense in control COLUMBIA, Mo. – Missouri junior Emmanuel Hall caught two touchdown passes for the Gold, which beat the Black 24-0 in the Tigers’ annual Black and Gold Game on Saturday at Faurot Field.

Hall caught scoring passes from sophomore quarterbac­k Jack Lowary and freshman quarterbac­k Micah Wilson and finished with 87 yards on three catches.

Mizzou’s first-string offense went 75 yards on seven plays on its first possession, capped by a Dawson Downing 2-yard TD run. Downing had 38 yards rushing on 3 carries on the opening drive, and finished with 47 yards on 9 rushes.

The Tigers appeared to stall near midfield on their second possession, but on third-and-7, Lowary eluded a blitz and stepped up in the pocket to deliver a deep ball to Hall for a 42-yard touchdown.

Sophomore kicker Tucker McCann made a 47-yard field goal with 6:19 remaining in the second quarter.

The offense scored all 24 points in the first half. Missouri totaled 316 yards in the first half (204 passing, 112 rushing).

KENTUCKY King shines for Wildcats

LEXINGTON, Ky. — Junior running back Sihiem King rushed 19 times for 107 yards and 2 touchdowns as the Kentucky Blue team topped the UK White squad 31-14 in the BlueWhite Spring Game on Friday night at Commonweal­th Stadium.

Redshirt freshman Gunnar Hoak, who logged times for both teams, finished 16 of 24 passing for 174 yards and 2 touchdowns. Hoak rushed three times for 10 yards and a touchdown.

The Blue squad, made up of Kentucky’s first-team players, had 351 yards of total offense, including 231 yards through the air. The White team, which was facing the Wildcats’ first-team defense, gained 170 yards of offense, including 47 yards on the ground.

Senior quarterbac­k Stephen Johnson, who led Kentucky to the TaxSlayer Bowl after the 2016 season, completed 8 of 18 passes for 106 yards. Sophomore running back Benny Snell, Kentucky’s leading returning rusher, carried 3 times for 22 yards and 1 touchdown.
