RAY DOUGLAS BUNKER, 69, of Jacksonvil­le, Arkansas passed from this life on May 9, 2017. He was born in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan on October 14, 1947. Ray enjoyed going fishing, cooking, spending time with his family and his dog Jake.

He is preceded in death by his father Dale Glenn Bunker and one brother, Donald Bunker. Ray is survived by his daughter, Mary “Katie” Ladd (Scott); siblings, Reva Blizzard (Bernie), Robin Ivey (Bob), Roger Bunker, Ronnie Bunker, Rickie Bunker; grandchild­ren, Harley Wolfe (Ashlee), Latosha Hutchinson and a host of other family and friends.

She was a member of Amboy Methodist Church in North Little Rock and a lifelong Arkansas Razorback fan.

She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Guy Elliott Carr, Sr.; daughters, Sharon Adams and Mary Louise Wickliffe (Joe); son, Carroll Louis Sullivan Jr. (Brenda); daughter, Susan Kitchens (Darrel); 18 grandchild­ren; numerous great-grandchild­ren; and four great-great-grandchild­ren. She passed away after a short illness from a fall. Jayma was an outgoing, loving person with many, many friends. She will be missed greatly by all.

–––––❖––––– PATRICIA JEAN LOWRY TAYLOR, age 88, went to be with her Lord on May 8, 2017, in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was born in St. Louis, Missouri, on October 26, 1928, to Rev. Forrest A. and Marie Shelton Lowry.

She graduated top of her class from William Jewel College in Liberty, Missouri, and went on to earn her nursing degree from Missouri Baptist Hospital. As an RN, she worked in the Little Rock Public School system as well as a psych nurse at the Health Center at the University of Arkansas in Fayettevil­le.

She married the Reverend Joseph E. Taylor in 1952 and served alongside him at United Methodist congregati­ons in Rose City, Fayettevil­le, Osceola, North Little Rock, Springdale and Ft. Smith. She was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ and lived her life in service to others. Pat always held the title of “Best Cook in the Church” in each and every charge the Taylor family served.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, “Brother Joe” Taylor and by her eldest son, Stephen Taylor, of Springdale. Her survivors include, her daughter, Susan Kincannon (Jim) of Maumelle; sons, David Taylor of Springfiel­d, Missouri, and Jonathan Taylor (Dianne Shaughness­y) of Washington D.C.; daughter-inlaw, Nancy Taylor, of Springdale; ten grandchild­ren: Spencer Taylor (Tatiana) of Fayettevil­le; Stuart, Jacob, Ryan and Catrina Taylor of Springdale; Sarah Kincannon of Little Rock; Rachel Gillespie (Tyler) of Dallas, Texas; Lauren, Ethan and Christian Taylor, all of Springfiel­d; and she was anxiously awaiting the arrival of her first two great-grandchild­ren, Will Gillespie of Dallas, and Baby Taylor, of Springdale, Ark.

–––––❖––––– CABOT — James “Jim” Adonald Wilson, 78, of Cabot died Thursday, May 11, 2017. He was born July 9, 1938, in North Little Rock to the late William “Bill” Adonale and Margie Skinner Wilson. Mr. Wilson was a member of Levy Baptist Church and a wonderful husband and father. He retired from AMPI, now known as Dairy Farmers of America, after 33 years, as the Operations Manager. He was instrument­al in moving the industry from manual data entry to a modern computeriz­ed system. Mr. Wilson was a member of the Army National Guard and was activated and on duty during the integratio­n of Central High School. After retirement, he raised stock grade beef cattle on his farm in Cabot and also enjoyed selling strawberri­es at the Cabot Patch. Mr. Wilson never met a stranger and always remembered names. He was an avid basketball and football fan and trading card collector.

Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Joan Blakey Wilson; his son, Farrell Wilson (Glenda) of Bryant; grandson, Joshua Wilson of South Carolina; brother, William “Dub” Ralph Wilson of Texarkana; sister, Betty Ann Wilson Jones (Bud) of North Little Rock; and half-brother, Donnie Wilson.

Born May 29, 1933, to the late Joe Mack and Thelma Alene Madera Leamons. Herman was retired veteran of the United States Air Force, a member of the Local 706 and 155 Plumber and Pipe fitters Union. He is also a member of the VFW and 32nd Degree Shrine. He loved being outdoors, hunting, fishing.

Preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy Freeman Leamons to whom he married September 28, 1953. Survivors include one daughter, Denise Thompson (Michael), one grandson, Shawn Michael Thompson, two great-grandchild­ren, Madalynn Zada Thompson and Lennon Alexander Thompson.

–––––❖––––– HENSLEY — Eldo Wayne Ruby, 89, of Hensley, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on May 10, 2017, at 2:32 p.m. Eldo was born on October 11, 1927, to Elias and Mary Ruby in Monticello, California, the youngest of six children. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Francene (Schalchlin) Ruby; his daughters, Valorie Ellis (Paul), Rachel Lindstrom (Gregory), Glenda King (Scott) and Marci Maddox (Michael); 11 grandchild­ren; and seven great-grandchild­ren.

Eldo worked as a purchasing agent for forty years at Survival Systems of San Diego. He enjoyed traveling to visit family and woodworkin­g in his workshop after his retirement. He was a member of River of Life Assembly of God Church in Mabelvale where he played guitar in the Praise and Worship Team. He was known by the children of the church as the “Candy Man” because he always had pockets full of Starbursts that he would hand out after the service.

Services will be Monday, May 15, at 1 p.m., preceded by visitation beginning at 12 noon, at River of Life Assembly of God, officiated by Rev. Tony Minick. –––––❖––––– HICKORY PLAINS — Charlotte Louise Davenport Wrigley, 87, of Hickory Plains, Ark., passed away May 10, 2017. She was born in Fergus Falls, Minn., on February

27, 1930 to Lyle and Cora (Weaver) Davenport.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Thayne Wrigley; her oldest son, Dan Wrigley; and grandsons, Wade Wrigley and Chad Davis. Also preceding are her siblings: Galdyce Mittlestad­t, Lucille Petersen, Warren Davenport and Eugene Davenport. She surely had an amazing heavenly welcome.

Left to cherish her memory are daughters Debora Carpenter (Charles Oldham) and Kathy (Bo) Thompson; daughter-in-law Rachel Lynch Wrigley (Tim Karl); sons Chuck Wrigley (Julie) and Steve Wrigley (Kristen); and grandchild­ren Christabel­le Carpenter Krajewski, Shaunna Wrigley (Chad) Buck, Deven Wrigley (Josh) Smith, Dusty Wrigley, Rhonda Wrigley Bolin, Sallie Wrigley, Ryan Wrigley, Alexis Wrigley, Clint Davis, Spencer Wrigley, and Emily Wrigley. She also leaves behind 10 great-grandchild­ren; a brother, Don Davenport of Fergus Falls; and many nieces, nephews and loving friends.

Charlotte grew up on a family farm in Fergus Falls and graduated from Morris Ag School in 1947. She was known for her beautiful singing voice and sang with her brothers and sisters. For many years during her adult life she sang in church and for weddings. She married Thayne in 1949 and together with their first child, Debora, they moved to Arkansas to buy a farm in 1953. Only 23 years old and so far from her family, she still became the perfect farmer’s wife raising five children, cooking three meals a day, butchering livestock, running for equipment parts and always being in church on Sunday.

At age 47 she attended Foothills Vo-Tech in Searcy to pursue LPN training. She practiced in nursing homes and as elementary school nurse in Des Arc for many years until she had to retire to care for her husband in his last days. Much of the medicine she handed out was in the form of hugs.

She was an awesome lady who shared her love of fun along with her wise counsel – if you asked for it. She will be greatly missed.

–––––❖––––– HOT SPRINGS — Dewey Eugene Cook, age 87, passed away May 10, 2017. He was born September 26, 1929 in Hot Springs, Ark. Eugene was predecease­d by the love of his life and the light of his world, Mary Laverne Sanders Cook. He was also predecease­d by his parents, James A. Dewey Cook and Lura Reed Cook; sister, Darlene Bennett Fields; nephew, Don Sanders; niece, Deborah Prince; and precious granddaugh­ter, Roxanne Short.

A Graduate of Lakeside High School, he worked in his parents’ business, Dewey Cook Scrap Iron & Metal Company until his father’s passing in 1968. He was owner and CEO of Dewey Cook Scrap Iron & Metal Company until his death.

Eugene is survived by his four children, Tara Flock, Brad Cook (Dana Cook), Wade Cook (Carol Cook) and Tracy Ketzer (Greg Ketzer). He leaves behind seven grandchild­ren, 10 great-grandchild­ren and eight nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his cousin and lifelong friend James Reed (Marleen Reed) and cousin, Paul Miller (Imogene Miller).

Eugene was a founding member of Millcreek Ministries, Hot Springs Ark. He taught dozens of kids to water ski throughout the years. His strong sense of Christian Philanthro­py helped numerous Churches, Christian Schools and Ministries sustain and grow throughout his life.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Pentecosta­l Church, 222 East Grand Ave., Hot Springs, Ark., with Rev. Van Glidewell and Rev. Greg Ketzer officiatin­g.

–––––❖––––– SEARCY — James Nyren Smith, age 87, of Searcy, died Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at his home in Searcy. He was born October 20, 1929, in Searcy to G. Carl Smith and Ethel Davis Smith. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Searcy and worked for 30 years as a crop duster.

He leaves to cherish his memory one daughter, Terrie Smith of Searcy; one son, Glen Smith and wife Barbara of Jonesboro; and two grandsons, Austin John and Noah James Smith, both of Jonesboro. He is preceded in death by his parents; and wife Wilma Dean Langley Smith.

–––––❖––––– WARD — Janet Lynn Hill, 63, of Ward died Monday, May 8, 2017. She was born February 1, 1954, in Ardmore, Oklahoma, to the late Arthur Carl and Opal Ozelle Gardener Lee. Mrs. Hill was a vital member of Ward United Methodist Church and owned and operated Key Systems Tax and Bookkeepin­g. She also owned and operated Tub N Tan in Wasilla, Alaska, for many years. She was compassion­ate and giving to a fault and she loved to cook for family gatherings.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hill was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Carl Lee. Mrs. Hill is survived by her husband, Warren Hill; children, Kevin Hill, Kristen Sallison-Brazear (Matt) and Jessica Nolen, all of Ward; grandchild­ren, Edward, Alex, Justis, Faith, Jordan, Benjamin, Sophie and Jacob; great-grandchild, Hayden; brother, Leroy Douglas Lee; in-laws, Shelly and Jerry Russell and Darla and Bill Wilson; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 15, 2017, at 6 p.m. at Ward United Methodist Church with Reverend Carol Grace officiatin­g. Gathering of family and friends will be held 4-6 p.m. prior to the service.

–––––❖––––– WHITE HALL — Denise Ballenger, 62, of White Hall, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 11, 2017. She was born November 19, 1954, in Pine Bluff, to Dennis A. and Ella Mae Hardin Hall.

She was reared and educated in White Hall, graduating from White Hall High School and graduated from Beauty College. Denise had been a beautician for around 40 years and had owned and operated Tangles Salon.

She was an avid Razorback fan and loved to call those Hogs. She enjoyed gardening, and her grandchild­ren were the love of her life.

She was preceded in death by her father, Dennis A. Hall. Survivors include her husband, John Ballenger; children, Wendy Ballenger Vincent (Danny) of Shreveport, Louisiana, Samantha Ballenger Layes (Darian) of Fort Smith; grandchild­ren, Nicholas Hayman, Lyla Grace Vincent, Luke Vincent; two grand-dogs; her mother; a sister, Vickie Webb (Joe) of White Hall; brothers, Dennis H. Hall (Ruby) of Rison and Tommy Hall (Sherri) of White Hall.
