My wife, Peggy, and I are privileged and honored to be a part of the Batesville School District and thank the board of education for giving us this opportunity to lead. We consider ourselves servant leaders. … We define leadership as the stewardship of the lives entrusted to us, and we take that role very seriously. WHAT DO YOU LOOK FORWARD TO MOST ABOUT LIVING IN BATESVILLE?

The impact of our efforts toward student achievement and the care of our staff. A quality community like Batesville has the support and focus we were looking for in public education. The people of Batesville take pride in their schools and are totally focused on students and quality of staff. WHO OR WHAT IS YOUR GREATEST INSPIRATION?

Relationships in our family and educational family are our life’s inspiration. Right now, my greatest joy is Hutch, our 1-year-old grandson. WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS FOR THE SUMMER AND THE COMING SCHOOL YEAR?

My personal goal will be to network with all students, parents, staff and the community. Our professional goals throughout the year will be to make an already-outstanding school district better by listening to all stakeholders and finding them the time and resources needed for all students to achieve. For the 2017-18 school year, our branding and motto will be, “Students first: Working as a family for continuous improvement.”
