Nothing has been heard from him since the receipt of a letter by the assistant cashier of the bank, in which he said that he would not be back, and asked that his brother be summoned to manage the bank’s affairs.

An Arkansas Department of Education investigation found that the state failed to provide an adequate special-education program for a mentally ill teenager at the Alexander Juvenile Correctional Facility. Some child advocates say the flaws found with the 14-year-old’s education are not isolated to him but are systemwide and claim previous investigations show similar problems with other children from two years ago still exist. “He’s one of many” examples of the youths who aren’t receiving the kind of education services they are entitled to receive, said Scott Tanner, a state employee who works as an advocate on behalf of children in state custody.
