ESSICK LUTHER COVINGTON SR., 64, of Little Rock formerly of Brinkley, died Tuesday morning, June 6, at Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System in Little Rock. His son, two daughters, three sisters, 15 grandchild­ren and a host of other relatives and friends survive him. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 10, at 11 a.m. at Branscumb Funeral Home Chapel, 911 North Main Street in Brinkley. MICHAEL J. DOUGHTY, 70, of Maumelle passed away June 3, 2017. He is survived by his wife, Cindi; mother, Dorothy; children, Megan Doughty, Shaleen Dillon (Robert), Ryan Doughty (Katherine); eight grandchild­ren and one great-grandchild; brother, Darryl (Sandy) and sister, Laura. CLIFFORD THOMAS DUNN (Tom), age 63, passed away June 6, 2017, in Fayettevil­le, Arkansas. He was born in Palestine, Texas, and lived the majority of his life in Little Rock, El Dorado and Fayettevil­le. He is the son of Clifford Thomas Dunn, Sr. (deceased) and Betty Jo (BJ) Allen of Little Rock.

He graduated from the University

of Arkansas at Little Rock with a degree in accounting, and spent most of his career in finance. He retired from finance and pursued his dream of owning and operating Shorty’s Deli and Meat Market in Farmington, Arkansas. He was an avid cook and award-winning grillmaste­r. He spent many weekends participat­ing in cooking competitio­ns. He and his team were the Grand Champions at the Magnolia Blossom Festival World Championsh­ip Steak Cook-Off in 2011. He was of the Baptist faith.

Tom is survived by his wife, Ollie Dunn, his mother, Betty Jo, daughters, Angela Dunn Glover and Jenny Dunn O’Bryan of Fayettevil­le, stepchildr­en, Chuck Bennett and Lindsey Bennett of El Dorado, five grandchild­ren – Owen, Sam, Mason, Aiden, and Zachary – with whom he had a very special relationsh­ip, and siblings, Donna Kay Verser of Kentucky and Jim Dunn of South Carolina.

Funeral services will be Saturday, June 10, at 2 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Chapel, 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock, Arkansas. Interment will immediatel­y follow at Rest Hills Memorial Park.

She was born on July 10, 1929 in Cloutiervi­lle, Louisiana to Neville Brosset and Ada (Bishop) Brosset. She is the last living child of the family. She was married to Hayden Studdard for 38 years till his passing in 1983. The first part of her life was raising three children in Merced, California. They later moved to Little Rock, Arkansas, where she began working at Westinghou­se until she retired in 1991.

Frances was never able to finish high school, but was determined to graduate and obtained her GED at the age of 62. She attended Crystal Hills Baptist Church where she was baptized and became a follower of Christ our Lord. Her retirement years were dedicated to her family and church. She was a beautiful on the outside as she was on the inside, hardworkin­g, and sometimes a stubborn person. She was known for telling it like was and people loved her for it. She will be missed by all that knew her.

Survivors are her three children: two daughters, Terry Studdard of Little Rock, and Juanita Studdard-Mosenthin and sonin-law, Eddie Mosenthin of Hot Springs and her one son, Jim Studdard and his wife, Charlotte of Little Rock. Her grandchild­ren are Steven and his wife, Susan Marshall of Sherwood, Kimberlie and her husband, Kevin Neathery of Texas, TJ and his wife, Laura Marshall of Bryant, Joel Studdard and his wife, Caroline of Little Rock, and Ryan Studdard of Little Rock. Her great-grandchild­ren are Erin Neathery and Ty Marshall.

BIGELOW — Anne Elizabeth Watson, age 103, of Bigelow, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, June 7, 2017. She was born February 23, 1914 in Scranton, Pennsylvan­ia, a daughter to the late Herbert Lobley and Mary Griffin Lobley. She retired after a lengthy career of teaching at Bigelow Grade School, which was later named Anne Watson Elementary in her honor.

She is survived by her children, Herbert (Evelyn) Watson of Horn Lake, Mississipp­i, Reece (Sharon) Watson of Bigelow, Carol (Sonny) Butler of Hensley, Arkansas, and Mary Avey of Bigelow; 16 grandchild­ren; 18 great-grandchild­ren; and four great-great-grandchild­ren.

HOT SPRINGS — Anne Copeman, 86, of Hot Springs, passed away June 5, 2017. Anne was born in Dermott, Arkansas to the late John and Katherine Freeman.

Though she had a career outside the home, it was homemaking which she loved. Neither daughter had a store-bought dress until they were well into high school, the evening meal was always delicious, the home beautifull­y decorated, and the yard full of flowers and well manicured. Somehow she still found time to volunteer and be lots of fun. Anne set an example of community service which her daughters carry on today; Anne’s last volunteeri­ng adventure was at The Caring Place.

More often than not, Anne was at Oaklawn during race meet, in New Orleans during Mardi Gras (or whenever she could get there), and enjoying New Mexico at Christmas.

Anne was the loving wife of Jack Copeman, sweet sister of Katherine Dale, and the proud mother of Jamie (Alan) Lax, Katherine (Marilyn) Freeman, and the late Buck Freeman. Her grandchild­ren Aaron (Alicia) Lax, Anne Fox, and Kate Fox have great memories of her amazing smile, laugh, and energy, as will Nevaeh Lax and Damian Berry, Anne’s great-grandchild­ren.

The family’s love extends to her caregivers Tabitha Gonzales, Annie Seidel, Jenny Olson, Linda Middletown, and Jennie Wallace whose loving care the last four years was remarkable. And also to her angels during her illness, Ann Shelton and Kay Provus — thank you.

A Memorial Service will be held at First United Methodist Church on Friday, June 9, 2017 at 10 a.m. with the Reverend David Wilson officiatin­g.

From 1960-1998 he worked for KTHV Channel 11 in Little Rock, Ark., in the engineerin­g department. After leaving KTHV he was involved in farming. He also worked as a weekend D.J. at radio stations KLRA, KXLR, KMYO. He loved hosting the Highway 15 Fire Department Picking and Grinning on Friday nights.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Morgan. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Patricia Ball of White Hall, Ark., one daughter, Patsy (Carrol) Brown of Pine Bluff, Ark., and three sisters, Mildred Morrison, North Little Rock, Ark., Peggy (John) Doolittle of Little Rock, Ark., and Dian Ball of Humnoke, Ark.
