Located just minutes from Little Rock, Jacksonvil­le is ripe for discovery. The city is filled with family-friendly activities, a variety of restaurant­s, affordable hotels and a way of life that offers the best of small-town living but with big-city amenities.

There are plenty of ways for families to play in Jacksonvil­le. At 160 acres, the Arkansas Game and Fish Foundation Shooting Sports Complex is the largest in the state. A day of fun at Splash Zone water park costs just $5. Dupree Park has six softball, two baseball and four soccer fields, plus a walking trail, a playground, a dog park and a 10-acre fishing lake. The Reed’s Bridge Battlefiel­d Heritage Park is one of the most well-preserved Civil War sites in Arkansas. In addition, annual events Big Bang on the Range and FestiVille both offer free admission.
